Trust me, she does not make a million a year...lol. Hosts usually start out in the $70,000 range and they DO NOT get commission. Prime time hosts can earn a middle six figure salary.

I'm sorry but I don't in any way believe that a job like host on QVC would start below twice that. It makes zero sense to me.

I know lots of people ask why, but I'd ask why not? The trick to being a QVC host is to make it look easy, The best of them do that. The rest? Not so much.

The one TV job/salary that has always surprised me belongs to Vanna White. North of 7 million to look good and turn letters. Not a bad gig at all!

Curious I just read Vanna White's Wiki page. Man....people bag on Kim Kardashian for having a Big Bag of Nothing....Vanna White is in the same boat..she started turning letters in he early 80's.....plus VW was in Playboy, as well (pictures from the past, but Playboy the same).

LOL! My entry level employees start out at $75,000 annually. What the heck year are you talking about? 1987?

It was published several (at least 5) years ago that Lisa and Rick are the top sellers at QVC and at that time they each made $500,000. per year. The hosts do not get commissions, but I'm sure they can tell who sells the most by the way the items are "flying out the door." Now with many of us shopping online I'm sure it is more difficult to tell who actually made the sale though. Newer hosts may start out at $80-$100,000.--just an assumption. Probably get a big boost after probationary period. If Rick and Lisa make $500,000. or more now the other more experienced hosts--Jane T., Marybeth, David V., Jill must make at least $350,000 or more. I think Marybeth was part-time for a while so then she may have made less. They also get a lot of freebies from the vendors to try out products, etc.

What is this obsession with income? We were taught it wasn't polite to discuss it, let alone ask a host directly what they made.

They are in the public eye and some consider themselves celebrities. Contracts and salaries for stars of movies are often published. Newspapers have done articles about QVC hosts and revealed their salaries--at least that of some of the hosts, but not all. I doubt they all make the same.

Lisa's had a successful tv job for 20 years, a beautiful home, probably some great investments. I'd say she's in a very good place.

Not surprised the hosts with seniority make fabulous salaries.

Lisa is listed on Celebrity Talent Promotions for speaking engagements. Not sure if this is something recent or she signed on a long time ago. I wondered if it was on the up and up but listed her bio and current info.

Oh champagnepoodle, you are so misinformed:

Here we go again, for those of you in the dark:

Beginning new hosts start at $ 100,000.00 annually. After that, your salary is commensurate to your existing sales. Naturally, you are under pressure with each show to increase sales, and if you are consistent in doing so, the you are given bonuses comparable to your regular increases. But you must regularly increase to get these persistent raises, as they can majorly affect your income. You can also get independent bonuses on special shows that you host, such as when Lisa goes to Italy for the Vicenza shows, etc. (Vendors also offer incentive fees to some hosts.)

If you don't persist in increased sales per show, then you only get a base salary, but then QVC probably wouldn't keep you around for long anyway. You wouldn't be "fattening the calf." That's why the break their necks to get you to buy from them at every airing! It's more bucks in their pockets every payday.

In 2007, Lisa was reported to be making $ 500,000.00 minimum annually, with large bonuses and incentives from vendors, etc. It is also known that she consistently keeps and improves on this figure year -after- year.

Also, there are other Q host who generate similar incomes.
