Is this a selling point now? The host has, numerous times, said the vendors dad died 4 years ago.

Regardless if he was the inventor, I would not appreciate his death being brought up several times during the presentation.

@hippiechick7897  What host and what item's inventor are you referring to?

Maybe she's OK with it?  If she's offended by it then I would think she'd have brought it up by now.

I felt Shawn was honoring Dr Smigle.  It told the history of the product and the development of the very popular and efficatious health product.

Dr Smigle was a part of  QVC for many years.   He was a pioneer in the industry and is beloved by many.  In a time when bashing and not honoring the previous pioneers is in vogue. please leave this man and his family to celebrate his accomplishments.

@CAcableGirl2 it's the TSV.

David Dangle manages it tastefully for Joan Rivers.

I feel there is a way to honor the family’s accomplishments without bringing up his death every 5 minutes.

This seems desperate and tacky to me.

I couldn't disagree with you more.  I thought it was very tastefully and respectfully handled.  The host seemed sincere.

Having recently cared for her own father, thru an end of life illness, I can't imagine, she'd intentionally use the Dr's death, with his daughter, on air, to sell the product.

I don't think Joan Rivers is a good example.  Better would be Jeanne Bice, who's death is still brought up. There are probably new buyers who have no idea who whe is, but she is still very much a part of every presentation.  Similar to OP comments, I sometimes wonder if it's the best tactic - but I also assume there would be some long time fans offended if she wasn't.

I didn't see the TSV presentation, but it may have a little to do with Shawn just losing her own father that she kept bringing it up.  I really don't watch a lot of these type of products, but I guess I had missed Dr Smigle and didn't know about his death.

And when during Mike George's presidency has QVC cared about offending long time fans?

Angel Smedley has to menton the passing of Jean Bice with every presentation of Quacker Factory's DreamJeannes.  I happen to like the pants so I like to see presentations of them when I'm considering a purchase.

However I don't appreciate hearing about JB each time.  It seems a bit over the top and tacky to me. I was not a fan of that woman but I do like Angel a lot.

I just wonder who is running things now that he is gone, especially when they have a new product.  Makes me wary of 'the works'.
