I can see if a customer wants to change theirpassword but HAVING to change your password is a royal PITA............
At my age ,with a memory like mine it is very inconvient
Even the dumb questions you get to choose from ,I cannot answer.I do not know my moms year of birth any more, nor my dads,my kids do not have middle names ,and my sis' didn't have a middle name either
I really do not know why I continue shopping here ,it isn't fun any longer!

Heaven forbid the QVC do something right and make your account more secure. How dare they!
While I understand that it is a pain (I really do), I think it is better for all of us. Besides, if QVC did not do this and accounts became compromised, I can already hear people complaining that QVC did not do enough to protect the accounts.

make up an answer to fit the question and write it down. You shouldn't have the real info out there anyway. ID thief can use it

If you are smart enough to post on this board you are smart enough to change your password. There have been many complaints about the loose security. At least they are trying.

For quite some time, many of us have been concerned that using a 4-digit pin number is not very secure. We are grateful that the method has been changed.
It is often difficult to do something differently, but in this case it is worth the inconvenience.

Frankly, I applaud the additional requirement of an alphanumeric password. It's been an industry standard for tighter security for years, and why QVC is so far behind in this is a mystery to me. Improvements are still needed: a strong password should allow special characters (this one does not), and if the system is allowing customers to bypass the security question that needs to be fixed.
Some of us remember last spring when the website had a serious security lapse and we were seeing other customers' email addresses and account numbers in our login screen. At the time, many posters were requesting -- even demanding -- actual passwords instead of a 4-digit PIN.
We now store important, sensitive information on websites (personal and financial data) and these are easily used by hackers to tap into credit/debit cards, to drain bank accounts, and/or for identity theft. While keeping up with passwords and security questions can be frustrating, I would encourage everyone to remember it's far more difficult to try and recover from identity theft.

It's better for your own sake, but I agree, the questions are downright stupid. I don't know when my bio parents were born. No cousins, etc. - Bird

One of the things I liked about QVC was only needing a pin to sign in, besides having to sign in every 5 minutes, it was nice & easy. One think I LOATHE is when any site tells us how to create our own password. When we are required to use letter and numbers, and use a minimum of characters. At least they aren't making us use a capitol letter too.
If we must choose a password, fine, but don't tell us how to choose it! That really erks me.

Also I hate when we have to choose security questions, especially if they're questions like mother's maiden name, I'm not going to give that when it's always used for banking security.
