It can't be easy demonstrating thousands of products and having to sell them based on the host saying they use the product - but most of them do. Is it conceivable they all use every product they sell? I think not
I am watching Shawn selling Ovation hair products and listening to Shawn saying she uses it all the time. Recently during a Wen show, she bragged about using Wen. Now it is possible she uses both, but I also remember her saying on a Nick Chavez show how she uses his products. Honestly and this is a pet peeve, but whether a host uses a product or not is not a factor for my buying it. Geesh

It's all in the "wording."
When a host or hostess says I "USE" xyz, they were given the product for FREE to "TEST".
In shawn's case, she may use all the hair products she says because they all work for HER hair.
When a host or hostess says I "OWN" xyz, they actually PURCHASED the product.

@MizIMAC
Perhaps you are correct.

When Shawn is selling a set I have heard her say "I use this xxx but I have not tried these items". Other hosts have done the same. When it comes to hair and beauty products i think they all chose the words they use carefully. They escape by answering the phone and letting the caller's give the rave review. As for clothing they must get samples or big discounts on purchases. If they wear items a time or two and then donate I would like to know where they take them so I can shop there. ;-). I would love to see the size of their shoe and clothing closets.

I bet they get to try a lot of those products.

I believe very few hosts. Shawn is not one.

You would win that bet. Makes sense they try the majority of products, but the OP has a point about them speaking as if they use the product on a regular basis. Of course, that is all sales hype and it doesn't really matter to me if they use it or not. Why would I care if a host used a skincare product the day before selling it? What does that mean to me?

All the hosts are hosts, because they are SALESPEOPLE! There is an expectation that they'll sell anything and do anything to sell it!
