I placed a order yesterday.it was a silver amethyst ring.after thinking of what I already have in my jewelry box,I decided to cancel.i still had that option,so I clicked on cancel.it kept saying trying to cancel.ive never had that happen before if it does send,I am not going to pay shipping charges

I don't think there is a grace period any more for in stock purchases. Once you hit the place the order button it's a done deal.

@Luvsmyfam If the Cancel option is still there on the order you, the only time I get the subsequent we are trying to cancel message is when it's a food item and it comes directly from the food manufacturer. I've gotten that a couple of times. Once, it did not cancel and I received the food. On a different occasion it eventually did cancel before any shipment.
So if you get that message, there's not much you can do. You just have to keep checking your order status to see what ultimately happens.

I placed an order yesterday and it went into process in less than 3 minutes. Having said that, it shipped today and I am thrilled.

I agree. The only time I've gotten the "trying to cancel" message is when the item is being shipped directly from the vendor.
Otherwise, I can either cancel with no problems or not at all.

Yes it's happened to me when I waited too long & I blamed myself not Q. My guess is the ring is being shipped directly to you by the vendor so it's not a simple cancelation. Ordering mistakes are made by all of us, we should pay for them & learn from it. Be well @Luvsmyfam.

I don't make purchases with the idea that I might want to cancel. I'm sure I want it and expect to receive it when I place the order. If I did screw up and then cancel but it shipped, I'd "eat" and return shipping knowing it was my fault.

@Luvsmyfam I don't see the posters as being snippy with you. You asked a question and you are getting their feedback. I also suggest that you check on your order to see if the cancel was successful. I haven't seen that message when I tried to cancel an item, just that I cancel or says I cannot cancel.
