Has anyone noticed that on frees ship days

there is low stock of some items, as far as color choices etc. then, in the 24 to 48 hours following the end of the promotion, tons of choices are 'back in stock'?

This past free ship day, I went to order a number of LocknLock products. I usually order at least 5 sets each time there is free shipping as I have redone all my pantry and food storage, as well as setting my son and DIL up with all the pieces they need for their food storage.

Usually I order what I need in the colors I want and move on (we each have certain colors to match our kitchen decor and dishes). This time, quite a few sets were either sold out, or had only one or two colors left. When I checked back the next day or so, every set I wanted was back in stock, and/or had gone from only one color choice to like 8.

Now I know stock will come and go from any retailer, and I now think QVC is holding back restocking if there is a free shipping day, or is maybe even removing some choices, to curb the quantity of things they have to ship for free. They even may be trying to unload the excess or overstocked colors they have on hand ( one set was only available in red, a color they usually have lots of, then the next day, 8 colors added) by 'forcing' you to get the only choice they list that day.

Anyone else seeing this type of thing connected to a free shipping event?

Re: Has anyone noticed that on frees ship days

I wonder if there could be people cancelling orders after they place an order on a free ship day?

I noticed the recent Kitchen Aid Pro600 mixer was deemed "sold out" in some colors, then, a few days later, some were back available...

Of course, that was an advance ship item, and I bet when people read the review on here and the Amazing website, they cancelled. That thing is a dog.

No, but it wouldn't surprise me.  Especially if trying to get rid of overstocked items.

That would be so dubious if they are doing it but I wouldn't put it past them. Get people interested and hoping to order something, keep it unavailable during free shipping and put it "available" the next day.

Not ok, and not honest.

I agree about free ship day changing prices . Two items I wanted to order went up in price to equal the shipping charge. I didn't  order because it wan;t free shipping for me.

I don't know about that on free shipping days but I do notice similar missing varieties of items when supermarkets have really good sales.

@Mominohio - I think what you described does happen from time to time, but in this case, I'm pretty sure the sudden availability of more Lock & Lock colors is due to a big shipment that just came into stock for QVC. I just had three of my waitlist orders for Lock & Lock items jump to "Preparing Your Order" this morning.

I noticed on my WL most things that were big sellers -- VPH for instance said "sold out"But next day was advanced order🤷‍♀️

I doubt it's a shipping coincidence.

Re: Has anyone noticed that on frees ship days

Yes, I had the same problem on Sunday.  Went to order the set of six LocknLock holiday printed canisters and couldn't find them to save my soul.  Went through every LocknLock product oinline several times throughout the day.  They were available the day before, and amazingly, available the day after and are still avaiilable today.  I called Customer Service and asked if they remove certain items from free ship day and, of course, was told they don't.  As a courtesy she gave me free shipping for the set.

I don't think there would be enough cancellations in one day to replenish the stock to the level they currently appear to have available.  There is such a short window to cancel these days.  A day or so ago the popup said over 200 ppl had added them to their cart (which was after free ship day).  And today's popup indicates over 170 shoppers have added them to their cart.  While I don't believe every item in shopper's carts gets purchased, those quantities are not yet sold so they shouldn't affect inventory. This particular item is holiday themed and most likely the only order for the season.

So, yes, I absolutely think they control what they want to offer on free ship day.

QVC tries to get rid of the stuff that is not selling which includes colors and figure they can by offering an incentive like free shipping to do this.
