Probably similar concept as with clothing when they reduce the cost of certain colors that probably are not good sellers.

My WL items have always been available in the colors I have wanted.

NO items went up in price on Free shipping days and 2 were lower.

No, but EVERY great clearance item has like one size left in the worst color! I wish the listing wd say limited before I click. Every time I click on an item I have to go back to top of the list!

I don't think there would be enough cancellations in one day to replenish the stock to the level they currently appear to have available. There is such a short window to cancel these days. A day or so ago the popup said over 200 ppl had added them to their cart (which was after free ship day). And today's popup indicates over 170 shoppers have added them to their cart. While I don't believe every item in shopper's carts gets purchased, those quantities are not yet sold so they shouldn't affect inventory. This particular item is holiday themed and most likely the only order for the season.

So, yes, I absolutely think they control what they want to offer on free ship day.

This was another set that I tired to order on free ship day that was missing, and you are right, it was magically back the following day.
