Re: Has anyone noticed Shop HQ lately

They've always struggled to keep up with thq Q and HSN, but after Invicta took over (invested financially, I believe) it was too many giant watches all the time.   Then they lost Michael Vallitutti; brought him back; lost him again.   --   I don't know if they're trying to restructure or if they will just go out of business.   ----    Comcast removed it from my lineup awhile ago, and another provider has dropped them  (Dish?)   From what I've read, SHQ is not paying their bills, to vendors or providers.  ----  Back when it was ValueVision it seemed to be going places.   Whatever business decisions since those days have not been beneficial for the company.

Re: Has anyone noticed Shop HQ lately

The channel owner, iMedia, stated in its first day bankruptcy filings that the intent is to find a new buyer while operations continue.

If unsuccessful,  expect the plug to be pulled soon.

Yes, I've noticed.

Some of their prime jewelry vendors, Sonia Bitton and Pamela McCoy, seem to have far less offerings as well.

It also seems telling that the "Meet the Hosts" link/information has disappeared.

I've purchased many things from them in the past and hope they are able to stay on the air.

@DSD2 I agree about Sonia and Pamela. I also remember some years back they had several small gold vendors that offered beautiful gold jewelry at competitive prices, wonder what happened to them Woman Frustrated

Isn't this the channel tha endlessly pushes watches the size of hubcaps from a 1955 Dodge?

Who buys that stuff?

Re: Has anyone noticed Shop HQ lately

I've watched the channel for a long time, along with the Q.  Way back when, I got some gorgeous Galerie de Bijoux jewelry.  I think their clothes have always been a bit less in quality than the Q's.  The exodus of good vendors seems to have accelarated, with the biggest being Beekman and then, Dimitri of Skinn left and Sam Saboura of One World left.  I wonder how long Mackenzie Childs will hang around.  During the pandemic, they probably did ok with the Medic Therapeutics stuff, I actually got some good quality masks from them.  The Dubrows took over it seemed, and now they aren't on except for those supplement things that I would never buy.  I do feel like there seems to be a frantic sell off of items lately.  The only thing I've bought in the last year was a pair of Corkys pool shoes, and some Dionis goat milk items.

I will miss them! I like and use many of the Dubrow's skin care and supplements. I also use Isomers and Joyce Girard's hair supplements. I've also gotten gold jewelry and some summer clothes and accessories. I find their prices to be good especially, when they have a sale and or coupons and free shipping.

When I look at what's on, it's always watches. I don't need a watch, so off it goes.

@hopi so right about shipping costs. I used to shop there more. I wanted to buy some insulated bags for friends . I had purchased a few years ago and still use them.  The sale price looked so good , then saw that the shipping was the same price as the item.

I do like to catch the Christopher & Banks (name?) brand as they are usually cotton and very practical. I found that brand is smaller then QVC sizing so order up. Every now and then HQ offers free shipping to card holders if $50. is ordered.
