Harry Slatkin candle question

Hello, forum friends! I haven't ordered a Harry Slatkin candle in years, but with the great sale on the harvest jar candles, I had to take advantage. When the package arrived today, I was lucky that I was returning from errands just as the UPS driver was getting back in his truck because he noted that I needed to sign for it. I was very surprised about that, so I've come here to ask:

Do you typically have to sign for Harry Slatkin candles?

I'm mostly curious because I'd considered buying more candles for gifts if this one performs well over the weekend, but if I have to be home to receive them, it probably won't be worth it for me at this time of year. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Hello!! @loriqvc

I’ve ordered many Harry Slatkin candles and never signed for them. Not sure why it was sent that way?
If you have to sign the next time you’re not there to accept, they will leave a note that you can sign that gives them permission to deliver.

Enjoy your candle! 🤗

Re: Harry Slatkin candle question

@RescueLover - Thanks for the input. The driver actually already had left the note on my door with the option for another delivery attempt after I signed it, but that's extra work that neither of us wants to wrangle—especially with the craziness of the holiday season. I also already have instructions on file that packages can just be left at my side door with no signature, but apparently that didn't apply this time.

@loriqvc.  I never had to sign for any candle including Slatkins's, although IMHO you should because they're toxic.

Re: Harry Slatkin candle question

I have never had to sign for any of my deliveries from purchases that I ordered.  Maybe they require a signature in some areas now. I would call your local UPS to inquire.  It would be annoying to have to sign for every order you place.

I do buy many Slatkin candles, especially in the fall/harvest scents and I love balsam and evergreen scents.  I find his candles to burn completely and the jars and artwork are really nice.  I do prefer the 4 wick candles.  Remember not to blow the candles out but just put the cover back on to snuff out the flame. I also remove the black residue ball that sometimes forms on the end of the wick.

Re: Harry Slatkin candle question

Thanks, @cookie16. In all my years of ordering from various places, I think this is only the second or third time I've had to sign for something that I didn't know I'd need to (such as international or certified shipments).

Re: Harry Slatkin candle question

Not the same thing, but a couple of weeks ago I got a Chewy delivery (on a Sunday, yet!) and I had to sign for it.  That was definitely a first.  I'm not sure if I would have had to if I hadn't met the truck.  This guy was a seasonal worker though, so that might have been why.
