Hard Sell with Finger Pointing

QVC Hosts.......please stop pointing at us while you are speed talking & hard selling "buy now, get on the phones"......it is an instant turn off and channel change.  I love QVC and buy a lot, but the second you start pointing at me, I turn you off!

It must work -  watch the politicians as they rouse their crowds.  Lots of them point.

If you do not want to watch sales presentations, perhaps a shopping channel is not your best viewing option.

Yes, I agree with you.  But I do llike to watch calm, informative sales presentations, and sometimes enjoy QVC. Like the OP, when the finger pointing, hard sell, fast talking, etc begins, I go elsewhere.  All I want is the information so I can decide if I want to buy.  The used car salesman approach doesn't do it for me, and the faster the host talks, the more he loses me.  I also turn off the high kicking, booty shaking, joyful dancing, and dum dum faces.  Would you buy a dress from someone who showed you how high you can kick and danced about when they showed you a garment? Probably not.

If I wanted the clothing or item I wouldn't care what the host or vendor does - I definitely would buy.  I'm not the type to cut my nose off to spite my face!

Re: Hard Sell with Finger Pointing

LOLOL the high kicking, jumping and doing ballet moves I believe is the famous Diane Gilman with her Super Stretch DG2 LOLOL. Cracks me up the ranting and raving and I rarely get perplexed by anyone... and I just laugh and shake my head. HSN is much worse with that hard sell. The 'hurry up its not going to last, 600 gone run to your phones" is much worse there LOL. All that does is make me smile and I see the same thing still same price next day LOL. Hehehe I wouldn't want to be a sales person on TV as hard sell isn't in my bones. Im like "buy it if ya want and if not....who cares too" LOLOL. If I like I buy and move on.

Don't mind sales presentations.....just not being pointed at & told I have to buy something now, as if the host is actually a used car salesperson.......just asking for a little class in the presentation......I tend to purchase more from classier hosts like MaryBeth, Pat, Jane, Carolyn......they are more down to earth & professional, in my opinion

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all have our way.

I don't think I've ever seem finger pointing on Q.  Though it's idiotic, I don't think I'd take it personally.
