Re: HSN closing their Florida facility. Moving to Pa to broadcast?

Wow. I imagine the hosts and all the other employees are not happy about that.  Some of the vendors even have homes in FL.  And so fast.   End of 2025 is like nothing.  I do think this is the first step in merging the two shopping channels.

ShopHQ has been a looser for many years. Astonishing they have lasted this long. But QVC/Hsn are a much bigger operation. Consolidation was inevitable and not likely any future growth unless they come up with new ideas. Younger generations are all internet and have little patience to listen to the talking, But still it is a big business and as long as they can make money they will continue. Plus changes in tariff application will likely make a lot of competition from low cost chines goods much more expensive.

Suzanne Runyan was a QVC host before she moved to Florida a long time ago.

If I lived close to QVC I would apply for a model position.  They sure gonna need more.

This is unfortunate for the hosts in Florida.  I have to think some will retire

and some will choose to work elsewhere.  I think this is what is going to happen

now.  Shopping channels a thing of the past. Brick & mortar very few. Between

amazon, wayfair, overstock etc. salespeople will be hard to find. Sad for all

these lives that will be turned upside down.

But since Covid vendors are only rarely in the studio...they stream from wherever or use an "ambassador "

It is to bad...I do not enjoy shopping on line but at times am forced to.

I sure would have to move from Florida to Pennsylvania.

One big retirement party in Fla?...Can't imagine hosts or other staff moving from a warm place to a cold and snowy place.

With the consolidation, I see the forums closing by years end.

With social media and streaming being the new era of QVC/HSN, this forum doesn't provide the excitement, promotional buzz they are looking for.   It's become a social media platform for individuals instead.

Both HSN and QVC will no longer be TV channel viewing....streaming on different platforms only by the end of year.
