Re: HSN closing their Florida facility. Moving to Pa to broadcast?

I feel a little sad about this but then again I guess I am not surprised by it.

I really like some of the HSN hosts, especially Colleen Lopez who is about my age and I am sure she will most likely be retiring due to this.   She's been there for 30 years and  I doubt some of them will leave sunny Florida for the cold snowy northeast, especially those who have been working at that location for so many years.

It'll be interesting to say the least.    Thank you all for posting, you are a wealth of information.

Re: HSN closing their Florida facility. Moving to Pa to broadcast?

Wow   This makes me really sad.  Those Hosts won't move to Pa.   Maybe younger ones, but if you have a home here, Your not going to move to freezing Pa.

I believe this is the beginning of the end for both channels.  Think about it.  Jose Left, Logo gone and many others.   I believe Kerstin and Jen and others have  left because the end is coming.

I shopped on HSN  long before QVC, but I ended up liking QVC more.  I hope I am wrong but,   I don't think QVC will survive going all internet.   They just don't have enough interesting products IMO

I will miss it for sure.  but they hurt their TV viewing IMO with Hosts like JT and others that act so childish. QVC could improve so much, but they take no advice, so I believe this is it folks.

If you surf the internet you see the same complaints that you see here.

Re: HSN closing their Florida facility. Moving to Pa to broadcast?

I too wonder how many hosts will relocate to PA. I doubt they will need as many behind the scenes employees once at the PA. facility, so I’m guessing some will lose their jobs. I agree with the poster that said this is the beginning of the end. No live broadcasts, just streaming. Too bad. I enjoyed HSN more so than qvc programming.

I feel sad for the HSN family, they were my first shopping channel and I actually prefer them to QVC. I believe Bobbi Ray is my age so it will be interesting to see if she makes the move. I really enjoy watching HSN, moreso than Q because they don't seem to have all the egos and BS that Q does, they keep the merchandise front and center-which is why I tune in, and of course. . . Curtis Stone! LOL!

Bobbi Ray Carter is 72, doubt she will be looking to move to PA from FL, as I doubt many HSN hosts will be happy to move from FL to PA, they will find other jobs.

Colleen Lopez  is 65.

Re: HSN closing their Florida facility. Moving to Pa to broadcast?

FROM TAMPA BAY TIMES

HSN is closing its longtime headquarters in Pinellas County and consolidating operations at its parent company’s campus in West Chester, Pennsylvania, this year.

Qurate Retail Group, the parent company for once-rival shopping networks HSN and QVC, linked the closure to a broader strategic shift toward social media and streaming.

A spokesperson said the headquarters closure means some local jobs will likely be eliminated. Others will relocate or shift to virtual work. A remote workforce dedicated to customer service is expected to remain in Pinellas County, he said.

Employees will learn how their individual roles will be impacted by the end of March, the spokesperson said.

Most likely they will loose their jobs unless they are offered a position to relocate to PA.

If I worked for HSN especially as a host, I would start now to look for a different job.
