So once again HSN is having a weekend of free shipping while Q is having a weekend of Christmas...guess which one appeals to me????  Q is very limited with their free shipping. Why?

@bargainsgirl   I don't get upset over it.  Saving $3.50 or $5.50 on way overpriced merchandise isn't a huge draw for me.   I hopped over to HSN to see what they had and nothing that interested me enough to buy.

Independent operations each with a separate President so they can freely set their own separate programming, products, incentives.  The Qurate CEO gives each President wide latitude.

Thanks for that info, @THEY CallMe Mr Wilkes .  It explains the big differences between the two.

HSN's Christmas in July shows are next Friday and Saturday,  just 2 days of full programming.

I think it's great that they do different things at different times for different reasons.

Just think how bad it would be if both Q and HSN had Christmas programming on the same weekend!

Ditto. Free shipping not an incentive to buy. $3.50? Seriously?

Yes, to me free shipping IS an incentive to buy.  If the item was $15 and you wanted 10 of them for gifts, the shipping would be $35.00-$55.00 and it would deter me from buying the item.  Especially since NO discount for multiple units of the same item.

Several times I have been considering some Lock & Lock, and with the shipping $5.50, I decided against making the purchase.

For example, there is a temptations mug that is really cute on clearance for $10.99 but the shipping is $5.50.  K88729

I think the free shipping entices people to impulse buy and purchase more often, I know it does for me.

Actually, @bargainsgirl , I think this works for me and many. If one doesn't like CIJ they have the option to shop at HSN with Free Shipping. Great options for all in my opinion.

@de1rdre .  Does not matter to me.  I always record a few shows and save them to watch on a day like today when I am not interested in the programming at all.  Bern watching Denim & Co all day instead of CIJ.
