Guests' sidekicks sitting on a sofa, surfing the Q

What is up with the latest thing on QVC, where a guest has a sidekick sitting on a sofa off to the side, surfing the Q web page? Or the QVC host is reading comments several times during the show? I want to see the item being presented and get information about it. I can see where it is helpful to answer questions about the products from the viewers, but I find it so distracting to have someone playing on the computer in the wings and chiming in every few minutes. When someone calls in and gets to talk to show host and guest, let them ask questions instead having the host jammer on about themselves or rushing them off the line. Maybe it is just me, but I don't like this new shtick.
