I seldom watch, but I have seen David eating during the food shows. Probably necessitated by the netizen comments.

I never understood the need to watch people eat to form a judgement on the quality of the food. Either you like how the food looks, or you dont. You're okay with the price, or you're not. A host's reaction doesn't phase me a bit.

QVC and the host are damned if the do, and damned if they don't. People just seem to need, search, fabricate a reason to take potshots at QVC or specific host.

So true!  Doesn't matter what the hosts do people will complain. They're disgusted when they do eat even saying they shove food in their mouths like they haven't eaten in ages. I've watched food shows and have never seen this. Hosts I've seen take a bite and put it down. And now complaints when they don't eat. smh

I used to love the food shows...just don't watch anymore. Everything is always glorious...so not true.

If the QVC host is not wanting to reallly immerse themselves in the experience of trying the foods and they barely taste or nibble the items, then they are boring to watch. Ally is one of them. She was not fun to watch and don't recommend she do future gourmet holiday shows.

I could not disagree more.  I have no interest in watching someone stuff their face with food for a couple of hours straight.  It is unreasonable to expect them to spend all that time eating.  That shouldn't be expected of anyone; that would be like asking the host to wear every dress in a two hour show.  Ridiculous.

It seems like they have this show running 24/7, non-stop on one of the Q channels on their app!  I guess every day is "gourmet?"  Smiley LOL

Have you ever seen a host taste the food item they are presenting and say I don't like that. The host all rave about the food. I don't take their word for it because everything they say is positive. I would never buy a food item based on the host;

just a WARNING.....

there WILL be eating on tonights show when it kicks off at midnight.

6/25/23

this way, those who dont want to see people eat, or dont want to see people not eat, or dont want to see people eat too much, or dont want to see a yummy dance, or only take a little bite, or will be shocked at how expensive the food is can easily skip the food shows.

Yes. Ally was boring to watch earlier this week on gourmet holiday. Sorry to say, but true.

Odd...you responded and agreed w/ your own post @Poppycorn2   LOL

If they hosts indulge, they get called out...if they don't...they get called out.

It doesn't matter to me if they eat the whole plate or none at all.

Re: Gourmet Holiday

[ Edited ]

Last nght when Rick and Mary were hosting, a beautiful spatchcock chicken was presented.  Mary was dipping her fork into the casserole dish (chicken, veges and gravy) after she had eaten the sample from her plate. She expressed delight with this particularly good chicken and consumed a good amount with gusto. After receiving more food on her plate and again dipping into the casserole dish, the camera closed on her and there was noticeable food on her face which remained while she continued to talk. Could not believe what I saw!  Quite a turnoff!
