The hosts of food shows for many years have been using the word "gourmand" to describe various foods.  This word is a NOUN referring to a person who is excessively fond of food and drink. Dictionary synonyms are glutton, pig, overrater, hog. This is obviously not how QVC their food items described.  The steaks being gourmand then doesn't make sense. The correct ADJECTIVE is "gourmet", they would be gourmet steaks. Hence the program's name..GOURMET Holiday.  Note: World Language teacher of 32 yrs, and yes I have never posted.

@Square.  You're correct. A gourmand is a person who appreciates fi n e food and drink.  They're using it incorrectly.

I guess that makes Rachel and Alberti gourmands.

Just add that to the list of many words they use incorrectly.

@ValuSkr. Not necessarily.  They may prefer pizza and mac & cheese.
