I haven't posted in this community for a long while, but I remember when I've had issues in the past that posting here sometimes gets something accomplished.

I had a friend visiting for her birthday this evening, and at the last minute, I decided to order her a gift card online. In the past, I've never had any problem and could always have the gift card delivered to an e-mail address immediately.

I entered all of the information and the first thing that seemed strange to me was that it requested my credit card number. Then I realized that I hadn't logged in, so I exited the application and logged in, so that my credit card info would auto-populate as it always does when I order online. Except that it didn't. I still had to manually enter my Visa card number, even though it is already loaded in the system under my login.

Next thing I knew, I received a confirmation e-mail that I'd made the purchase, and that my gift card would be forthcoming shortly. Then I waited. And waited. Hours later, I still had no gift card. Then I received another e-mail telling me to call a phone number between 8am and 8pm in order to receive the gift card, and it was already after 8pm, so consequently, I could not give my friend her birthday present.

The e-mail says that if I don't call the number within 24 hours, they will cancel my request. What on earth is going on? Has anyone else experienced this? Every other time I've done this, I've always just received the gift card in my e-mail almost immediately.
