Re: GLP-1 MEDS AND PLUS SIZE CLOTHING SALES

I saw a news report about this same subject late last year when it was reported that gym memberships were down, especially for the new year, because of the rise of GLP-1s. I didn't really believe it, but I saw it for myself earlier this year.  I've belonged to the same gym for years and normally in January and early Feburary any gym I've ever belonged to (going back to the mid 1980s) is overrun with  what we called 'new years resolution' people for about 6 weeks.  By the end of Feburary, most of them are done, but I didn't see that rush this year.  Yeah, there were a few more new members, but not the usual deluge.

BTW, I've been a 'resolution person' in the past, my 40+ year gym history was in large part due to unsuccessful atttempts to lose weight (I could lose it, couldn't keep it off).  This went on for decades.  I am a 2x bariatric surgery patient (sleeve in 2015 revised to a bypass in 2023; revision due to severe reflux esophagitis).  I am in NO WAY against GLP-1s.
