Oh, and by the way, judging from the score, I'll assume your DS had an, uh, less than joyous birthday...

Talk about humiliation...

Oh, that Eli...

Spurt, I think you and sis ought to bond over a new team. One that you can both support and love... Might I suggest a local team, you know, like the COWBOYS...,

{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Hey, 5-1 and they whipped the defending champs...

Stevie......The evening was great, and I did not have to wear an Eli t-shirt afterall

HAHAHAHAHAHA..... As much as I don't like the Eagles (with apologies to Gardenman), that game was glorious and as Denny Green so aptly put it, "they (the Giants) are who we thought they were".{#emotions_dlg.laugh}...they can beat the Redskins but who else....{#emotions_dlg.laugh} Some of the Eagle's fans held up pictures of Eli making one of his goofy faces {#emotions_dlg.laugh}. My DS checked her NY Giant APP on her smart phone and some of the tweets were pretty funny like this comment, "I thought, The Walking Dead was on AMC, not Sunday Night Football"......or "maybe some of the players need a shot of Viagra that was advertised"......."did the Jets get their uniforms mixed up and show up at the wrong time and place" (look what happened with Geno Smith and the time difference last week)..."Halloween came early and it looks like the zombies showed up"{#emotions_dlg.laugh}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Poor DS not fun for her at all....and then when her 2nd favorite player, Victor Cruz, was carted off, which meant no salsa dancing for her.....the whole evening was a disaster....not a way to celebrate a birthday.....well at least the food was delicious, and the cake someone brought was scrumptious---not overly sweet and not too rich...{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} Poor DS!

Yep my Redskins lost too but it was to a good Cardinals team, and at least they scored 20 points much better than when "the third" was at QB ..... you gotta emphasize the silver lining that you see...I'm used to this been doing it for a while....{#emotions_dlg.glare}

I can assure you of one thing....neither of us will EVER NEVER become fans of the Cowboys....and don't believe the hype, yes they beat Seattle, in the home of the 12th man, but the Seahawks are vunerable this year---they did lose some free agents and as one of their players said, they are believing their own press...{#emotions_dlg.glare} December is when the Cowboys usually make their swan dive and play their way OUT of the playoffs, so we will see how they fare as the season goes on...And if their running back Murray gets hurt, bye bye Cowboys....Remember, last week all the talking heads were proclaiming the demise of the Pats, and hailing the Bengals as the best NFL team....how did that work out....{#emotions_dlg.glare}

Well at least the Spurs won their game in Turkey---GO SPURS GO!!! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

SPURT, enjoy the football game wearing your Eli shirt. LOL (What about just saying 'no'?) Maybe you should bring a box of tissues for your sister in case the Giants lose to the Eagles.

It sounds like autumn has finally arrived in your area. We're having some nice days here in IN, temps around 70. Suppose to be like that for a few more days.

Hi TEGAN....well you were certainly prophetic about the Eagles/Giants game results ... and yes I should have brought tissues. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}. It looks like I see a team in the NFC East that the Redskins can battle for last place in the division! {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Redskins have a winnable opponent the Titans...

Next week your team plays in what should be a good game---Colts/Bengals---and Bengals defense has been struggling.. GOOD LUCK, afterall you have Andrew LUCK! Wink

Glad you are enjoying what sounds like beautiful IN weather.......well our cool weather was short lived....coming home after watching the game is was downright warm and humid, but thankfully another cool front is on it's way...although the temperatures will be warming up a little here...but thankfully it won't be in the 90's...I HOPE! {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

I don't like the Iggles either, but was pulling for them... Any little thing I can do to help stick it to either of the brothers... And besides, while I'll not likely ever be a fan of either of the PA NFL franchises, and that's putting it mildly, one of my primary reasons for detesting the, um, birds... has left and is now enjoying a position on another failed franchise... Still, that they took him in the first place will never, and I mean never, be forgotten... Moving on... Hope DS was able to enjoy her birthday gathering despite the loss... I mean really, after all, being a fan is one thing, but letting a game ruin one's day, unless one is somehow directly involved is actually sort of silly... And very glad you weren't subjected to the humiliating fate of having to wear an Eli shirt... Oh gosh, the mere though of it is rather revolting, isn't it...!?

Now Spurt, a serious discussion about silver linings... Where your team is concerned, well, there aren't any... Unless there's a miracle, when 'the third' is healed, he'll resume his place as the starter because your captain is, well, proving to be sort of a disappointment... NOT, I know, that its all his fault, but he will take the fall... And Little Danny Deep Pockets can have Native American chieftains sitting in his box all he wants, but there IS that other name he's put a franchise label on, so watch that space because it IS coming... NOT that it matters what you call them, because a stink bomb by any other name, well...

Oh please, I never listen to talking heads of virtually any ilk, but most especially to those comprised of a bunch of over the hill jocks who can no longer do, so remain content to pontificate about... and for big bucks... It's media and part of their job is to create spin, try to keep you interested and tuned in and in that regard, they're no better than E Entertainment News...

As for me... I spent the day out and about, as it was the best of what have been (and continue to be) a series of very dreary fall days, with drizzle and clouds... Not all that cool but a light sweater will suffice... In fact, the whole week here looks lousy, with tomorrow appearing to be the worst of the lot as the temps approach 80 and the humidity higher, with rain expected, and the A/C having been turned off, theoretically for the season... Hopefully, if the weather morons are correct, along about Friday, we should see some actually nicer fall weather...

I went to The Maxx, where I cancelled my layaway in favor of a different bag... YES, I said a bag... A Lauren number that had been following me around the last three times I was at the store. Well, it was still there and I took that as a sign that it was destined... Olive green Saffiano leather and at a decent price... I justified it by the fact that I put one back from layaway and also sent back Lisa's more expensive Gili satchel, as it had a discoloration that was very visible... I'd like to be able to fool myself by saying I actually SAVED money, but we all know that at the end of the day, a purchase is still a purchase...

ANYWAY, I rounded out my Maxx trip with a cheap top, a pair of pajamas and a few skincare items (a lot cheaper than the Q and no shipping) and then ventured over to Homegoods...

Well, you'll be elated to hear that Homegoods is getting in their Christmas stuff already... A mere trickle, but it's therrrrreeee... I'll say this about Homegoods though, their prices are getting sort of lofty... It used to be fun to go and look at furniture there, but lately aside from the same smaller, lower cost 'occasional' pieces (and even they've gone up), most of their furniture is very high end 'seconds' and the prices are just clearly prohibitive for most folks...

I finished up my day at the grocery store and well, while that'll never be precisely the highlight of one's day, it wasn't too bad...

And on that note... uh, but, well, hey, now, a win is still a win and HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS....

{#emotions_dlg.lol}

Hey Stevie....well at first no one was permitted to say anything bad about the Giants, because my sis had said the Giants had many games where they've come back from a deficit to win....but after a while she realized it wasn't going to happen, so we all had a good laugh over it....But she did receive some nice cards and gifts so her birthday was not a total day of despair...

But yes the Eagles and a certain player they used to employ---GRRRRRR-- who has now moved to Gotham....I hope he gets cut and rots in hades!!!! I wish him ALL THE WORST!!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Well Stevie, I know Captain Interception has not worked out, BUT now there is a growing movement to put Colt McCoy in......{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}. As far as I'm concerned either of the 2 is STILL better than "the third"....{#emotions_dlg.glare}

I hope your weather turns fall like again......it's a battle here too as temps creep up to the mid 80's, but at least the morning will be in the mid 50's.....at least if the weather morons are right!

Congrats on adding that new green bag to your collection....{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} (BTW did you see Q's lame poll---do you prefer to call it a handbag or purse....be sure to vote now---these are the things that QVC is worried about {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}) Now what kind of a go away gift is that for LR to return the scratched Gili bag.....And buying your top, pj's, and beauty products at the Maxx, you got a chance to inspect your merchandise and won't have to worry about returning defective merchandise ala the Q! ENJOY YOUR PURCHASES! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Our Maxx and Homegoods is combined into one Giant store....the upside is everything is all in one, the bad side---it sure makes for long long lines for checkout....But yes I noticed the prices have creeped up....and I'm wondering what impact that the new Hobby Lobby right across from Home Goods will have on their home decor business, especially with all the sales that HL has....and same with furniture...2 furniture stores will be opening up soon in the same center too....But yes I was expecting Home Goods to get up to speed with the Christmas items...but at least they were a little later than most.....

So I bet that your grocery store trip was decent because everyone was at home watching the game....Wink

Oh I just realized that the NFL pre-game has started already...(but not interested in this game....I think it will be another one sided game)...Dancing With The Stars is on tonight anyway....think I will watch that, and check in on the game during commercials...as I was flipping channels I noticed PM Style is on....Gee after the Q spent all that money on the new promo they will have to do it all over again once Lisa leaves in December.....And Lisa is on with your favorite vendor, the Emjoi epilator gal......{#emotions_dlg.laugh} I hope you are NOT watching! NFL pre-game here I come...DWTS won't start until 7....

Now Stevie did you unpack your Cowboy boots and cheerleader outfit....and you can sit right next to Jerry Jones.....{#emotions_dlg.glare} Remember this...
