Funny QVC reference in a new column

Saw this in an editorial by Jonah Goldberg on election results: The hosts of shopping network QVC dont' care if you actually use the exercise equipment you buy, they just want you to believe that buying a Shake Weight will make you a better person long enough to process your credit card. (I guess he's comparing politicians to shopping shows: say anything to close the sale.) Pretty humorous observation, and sadly probably true.

Re: Funny QVC reference in a new column

Funny thing about that reference in parentheses... compares to "flip-flopping". Have one stance that gets part of the people revved up, then back up considerably so that people "on the fence" don't believe you'd really do what you said before, and there you have it. It's a sad day, JMHO. People need to stop being so gullible...
