Yes, shopping cart.
When I hear "buggy", I think of a horse and buggy.

When I was a kid in the upper Midwest, my mother always called them buggys.
But for the past several decades, in various parts of the country, I've heard them referred to usually as shopping carts or occasionally shopping baskets.

Just for fun, tell what you call the thing with wheels you put your groceries in at the Supermarket. And put where you are, such as: Midwest, New England or where ever. Thanks.
Huh ... interesting. Both trolleys and buggys are actually something else. The only time I've ever heard the word buggy used was with the word "baby" coming before it.
I've lived in WNY and So Cal and have never heard anything but "shopping cart".

I live in upstate SC and we call it a buggy or cart. My sister in TN calls it a buggy. I use both terms and don't know why I say one or the other as it is just what comes out.

In the upper right hand corner of this website, is a "cart." Many other shopping websites call it a "cart", too (even though it's in cyberspace Lol).
I've always heard of it as a cart, but I like hearing the other terms.
To me, a "Buggy" is a baby carriage, a term developed in the 1850's. Our neighborhood school also sponsored a "Doll Buggy Parade" each 4th of July, in which kids would decorate a buggy/stroller or red wagon and parade with a doll or pet in it. I had to remember to call it a "stroller" and not a "buggy" when I was a young mom.
