Re: Free S&H, but seeing $4 charge?

Hello,

I am not in CA.

Just added this to my cart to see what would happen and it defaulted to easy pay. There was $0 charged for shipping. The total cost was the item price plus sales tax for my state. No additional charges.

I did the same thing and got the same result.

No extra charge.  State taxes only, no shipping charge with easy pay option.

[ Edited ]

It looks like a double charge for the California Electronic Recycling Fee.

Definitely a system error.

I put this in my cart to be sent to a California address.

Same thing: $4 Electronic Recycling plus $4 shipping.

@CAcableGirl2 - did you use Easy Pay on the order?

Re: Free S&H, but seeing $4 charge?

I just ordered the item online while on the phone with a rep and it showed the extra $4 charge, and the authorization for the total amount (including both the sales tax and the e-waste fee) for the first ez-pay was shown.  However, when I got out of my receipt screen showing the extra charge, and when back in and checked "order status", and clicked on the detail, the $4 extra charge was gone.

So, if you are in CA, it looks like it shows charged initially, but then it removes it.

Since the first EZ pay amount including both fees was initially authorized by my bank, I'll have to check it out and see if the amount is adjusted when the actual charge hits my account.

Off topic witht the shipping but is this the same tablet that HSN sold 2 for under $100 as a TSV a few weeks back? If so how can the parent company not offer the same or a better value?

Thank you in advance for anyone who might know.

Mint

@Mint2    I believe the price at HSN was way over $100, close to $160 for the 2 tablets.  They may sell the smaller tablet for less.

if you look at the detail supplied by @CAcableGirl2, she is showing that she was charged both a S & H fee and the Califlornia electronics fee.  As a Californian, I'm assuming she should or would know about the state fee.  Her question is specifically about S & H.  If you look at the screenshot I supplied, S & H is free when paying in full, but charged when using EasyPay.

@JeanLouiseFinch I think all items show that same graphic but it does not mean you get charged shipping and handling if you choose easy pay.  Go look at random items and they all look like that.

If that's the case, someone needs to fix it because they are communicating something that isn't true or accurate.

@JeanLouiseFinch

Choosing EP doesn't mean you have to pay S&H. Free shipping is for the purchase and not for the way you choose to pay for it.

@CAcableGirl2

I would call CS about this. There should not be a S&H handling charge. Something is not right about your order.

Normally I would agree, @SilleeMee , but look at the screenshot I posted. They have shipping  added to the EP but free where the full price is shown. It was the only possibility i could come up with for the OP
