Re: Food, Glorious Food!

[ Edited ]

I'm willing to buy @manny2

and have served Rastelli burgers, Heartland Chix, Salmon and many other purchases to guests both at dinners, tailgating parties and BBQ.

The food items I purchase are excellent.

We don't have Costco etc and it is def comparably priced to Wegman's meats and fish as well as Schwans and other online delivery services.

Plus, any issues and a fast refund would be available.

Catering would be nice, but no less expensive...plus I prefer to cook, grill and smoke my own dinners for guests.

What grocery store are you finding Roar for $1??

Wegman's is the only place around here I have found it and it is $1.58.

TV food is so expensive. I could probably afford it but it goes against my grain to pay $97.00, even with easy pay,  for two pounds of Mamma Mancini's lasagna roll ups and 2 pounds of meatballs. HSN food is no less expensive.

@layla2450  Totally agree with your post on overpricing. Also curious about your source for ROAR. I love it, been drinking it about three years now. I buy it directly from ROAR when Q couldn't fulfill AD last year. I sourced it locally (Texas) and the best price I could find was about $2 not a good variety and unsteady inventory. Now I'm curious where you find it for $1. I buy a minimum of two cases a month so that would be a significant savings for me. Would appreciate your advice. Thanks so much.

@NYwoman  Just read your post referencing the skewered shrimp presentation Rachel hosted. Totally agree it was a sham but you mentioned serving the shrimp with the tail on so I had to give a little chuckle. I'm from Louisiana and grew up eating shrimp and other joys from the waters (still do). Believe it or not the majority of diners around momma's table (or bench) ate the cooked shrimp tail and all. Keep in mind ~ I do not ~ but we have lots of shrimp boils and there are many that eat the whole thing!

Publix had ROAR as a "buy one get one free" sale a month or so ago.  Turned out to be $1.25 a bottle.

I am not a shrimp eater.   But I would serve shrimp with the tail on when the dish allows the diner to pick up the shrimp individually during the meal.   But, when you serve a shrimp Taco, the diner picks up the taco and bites the entire taco whole.   To me, this is an invitation to chocking as the hard shell could be ingested and swallowed whole or in a dangerous piece.

In shrimp boils you pick up each type of food individually and can suck on the head or crunch on the tail.
