I'm surprised.   Where did you see this?

Generally reviews of Tracfone are quite good.

BTW ...  I've been with Tracfone for six years, and have never had a problem.  I'm very happy with them.

Have been using Tracfone for  way over 20 yrs..since their first flip phone with the pull up antenna...have never had a real problem..if I did it was because of me being just plain stupid!

I have better service here in the "woods" than my kids do with their expensive plans when they visit..I don't have Wi Fi either.

I've been using a Tracfone for about seven years. I don't have any complaints about their customer service.

@Teddixat - I guarantee you that you can find "an entire website of complaints" for any company or product out there.  People love to complain, whether justified or not!

DH and I have had nothing but Tracfones for the past 24 years and we've been very happy with them.  In the early days, getting someone in CS who could resolve an issue could be frustrating.  But we always got issues resolved, no matter if it took a while on the phone.  And since then the service has improved considerably; activating our new phones takes minutes, literally.

There are millions of Tracfone users who are happy with their phones and service, but don't go onto websites to register that satisfaction.

So saying there's a website full of complaints doesn't hold much sway with me or anyone else happy with Tracfone.  Those of us with years of good experience with Tracfone aren't going to listen to some online complainers.

A year or two ago, there were some "reviews" on this website about issues with a particular Tracfone.  I left a detailed review (and posted it on these boards) of the simple fix to correct it.  Some people listened; some didn't and continued to complain, when it was a simple "user" issue.  Blaming Tracfone was the easy way out for those who don't choose to get to know their phones, IMO.

(For those who prefer to pay every month for their phone service, that's great.  But there's nothing wrong with Tracfone.)

I don't get Tracfone at all.  Never had them.  I always buy a particular brand (Samsung) and keep the phone for 4 or 5 years.  I buy them unlocked and shop for a carrier. What is the difference?  Tracfone sounds like you rent a carrier that throws you a phone for every year.

I ordered a Tracfone from QVC a week ago. It arrived this week and my husband is pleased with it. He's been using Tracfones for years. As for me and our kids, we have Google Pixels, Apple iPhones, and Samsung phones. Everyone is happy with whatever phone they have, be it a simple Tracfone or a more elaborate smart phone. There truly is something for everyone when it comes to cell phones. In no way is a Tracfone a "GIANT rip-off." It's a perfectly acceptable phone for many people. By the way, the Tracfone I purchased here on QVC for my husband was only $39.98. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE STEAL OF A DEAL! Thanks, QVC!
