While I am sucker for kitchen gadgets and cookbooks, particularly those of Southern cooking, ITKWD has become so predictable, that I don't watch any more other than to check out, in advance, what cookbook will be on. It is overpriced potstickers, KIND bars, Keurig, Vitamix MTAB, Temp-tations ad nauseum, choppers, nut mixes, etc.

Katie, glad to see you're among us... How did things go down your way? As for ITK, yes, like so much else on the Q, it's gotten completely formulaic and is usually redundant. I can't fathom how the show (and several others) still has a core of regular viewers. Not only has it become annoying, but it's just the same thing all the time...

Well, I thought I dodged a bullet and did not lose power during the storm, but lost it for 28 hours the day AFTER! Power finally came back on late yesterday afternoon just when I was thinking I needed to start up the generator to run the well pump. Had turned the horses out with lots of running and bucking like they had been cooped up for 2 months instead of two days, and came into the house and noticed, Hey! the bathroom light is on! YAY! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}But I am lucky - lots of people in Aiken, right over the county line from me, and lots in the Lowcountry, still don't have power and may not for another week. YIKES!{#emotions_dlg.w00t}

Then we had an earthquake...go figure.

And regarding ITKWD, and I know I might get bashed, but I get so sick of that Temp-tations qwap! At least David is no longer showing a piece of Fiesta - a lot of people, including me, complained that he was dismissing an iconic American company and product for Chinese stuff. {#emotions_dlg.angry} I mean, how much of that stuff can people have!??? And the pigs, chickens, etc. pieces are NOT cute.{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

I assume the cardinals are red... So glad you were able to find something for your sister in Giant's, uh, red... Did they change their slogan too, I mean, you know, from Big Blue to Big Red, just so your sister wouldn't feel, well, kind of goofy...?

{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Actually, my mom loves cardinals too, so I bought her a few of the smaller pieces (salt and pepper shakers, sugar and creamer) as a Christmas gift year before last...

I buy most of my dishes and kitchenware from the Maxx and Homegoods... Not a fan of Temptations, but not a fan of Fiesta either, though I do have one vintage yellow Fiesta bowl packed away somewhere that I'd like to find...

And yep, though I own little of it, I think Corning is still the real deal.

Don't get me wrong, I like cardinals, too! I don't have any Fiesta although I look at it every time it is on sale at Kohl's and I have good coupons. But I have some Corelle that is probably 30+ years old that I still like, only have had to replace two pieces via eBay. Sadly, Corning is now made in China{#emotions_dlg.crying}.....which is why I still hang on to my USA-made older pieces. At least Pyrex is still made here, as is Anchor Hocking.

Wait. I think I was confusing Pyrex with Corning... Oh heck, I think they're both good, better that Temptations, anyway... And most of my stuff, as I noted, comes from discount, but you know, it works fine for me. Of course, like my cyber sidekick to be... (and un-like that Happy-Dance-Himbo himself...) I don't often spend an inordinate amount of time in the kitchen. Frankly, I wish I had more time to cook and try out recipes. I'd love it. But you know, you get home at night and something quick and simple is so often the order of the day and weekends fly by. I often eat out on one of the days of the weekend and the other, I try to put something together, but it doesn't often involve significant cooking.

On my. It's finally here! Sunday on Q in all its glory...

{#emotions_dlg.scared}

morethanablender...morethanablender...morethanablender... come on, repeat after me...

And then there's that kitchen allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll afternoon... Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm devastated though, I went to stock my gift wing only to learn the morethanablender is NOT being offered in the Pantone color of the year! Hmpft! Sad, Q, very sad... And just how are we supposed to promote an "on trend" kitchen experience...?
