Re: Ever receive this message????

[ Edited ]

@cjm61,

To put it simply, it means:
a thread or reply was removed and the system did not clean up the links to that thread or post in an orderly fashion so at the moment there are some broken links.
The "resource" refers to a thread, post, or notification we might try to click/access, the "parent" refers to the hierarchy top-down levels of links in the network.
The "privilege" is the level of access our login give us -- deleted content or links require access only the moderators or tech staff would have.

(When we add a reply, a heart, or an "@ plus name" notification to a thread, that automatically creates a link.
The thread quickly becomes a complex network of links, and sometimes when something is deleted or even edited the pattern of links can be corrupted or broken and will generate this kind of message.
It's not something we can fix.
Once the system re-indexes the links it fixes the problem, so it's temporary and each time you see this kind of error message just wait a wee bit of a while and it will resolve itself.)

Rest easy...  none of it is accusatory, no shade😉.  Just a tech glitch.😊

Re: Ever receive this message????

@loriqvc That would seem logical right? It doesn't work. I have other "mentioned" comments I can access as well as others that gave me "hearts". Just these 3 notification I cannot access.

I signed out. I rebooted computer. Nothing works. The oddest part to me is the posts that "mentioned" me are also gone.

Re: Ever receive this message????

Thanks @dooBdoo . This is helpful.

I'm really not too concerned, just baffled. It's been that way for about 12 hours. If I never see the comments I am okay, I was just curious. And of course, I was hoping I didn't say something inappropriate, which I am sure I did not.

@cjm61 - There's always something strange to keep us guessing around here! If you're able to revisit the threads that are mentioned in your notifications, you should be able to see the mentions even if you can't click to jump to them. Or as dooBdoo mentioned, if the thread has disappeared or been modified, you may just have to let the notifications go into the ether and simply wonder "what might have been."  Smiley Very Happy

@cjm61,  The problem will be there 'til the Q's system re-indexes and refreshes.  It's not something we can fix.😊

Re: Ever receive this message????

@cjm61 Usually, when I'm mentioned in a post where the post or the mention has been removed, I think it just goes to the beginning post and then when you go back to your notifications, those mentions will disappear.  I still just think the message itself is just a glitch in the system, but I can't say why your post and the postst that mentioned you might have been removed.  Sometimes, it just makes no sense.

I recently got banned from a gardening group I was in on Facebook after asking about thermometers.  I got some cryptic message about violating Facebook's cyber security rules, and only figured out it must've had to do with that gardening group since that was the only post I had made that day, and when I tried to go back to it the entire group had disappeared.  When you get banned from a group on Facebook, you can no longer even find that group, so no way to plead your case there.

You're welcome, @cjm61!

The way the Q's site is managed, on weekdays it probably would resolve the night after the deletion (usualy fixes show up around 3 a.m. to 4 a.m.) but on weekends it likely will take longer.

As far as missing content, I always feel the best way to inquire is to send a private email message to the QVC Social Team (QVCSocialTeam@QVC.com), including the thread title, a link to it, and as many details as possible.  They are helpful and will do their best to find it and offer some insight.

Your posts are always so positive, upbeat, pleasant, thoughtful❤️ so the deletion was highly likely due to other posts to which your reply simply was linked.😊

Re: Ever receive this message????

@Icegoddess Thanks for your time in responding. I appreciate it.

As for the Facebook issue,  my sister-in-law had something happen also. She posted a picture of her 2 year old grandson swimming, nothing inappropriate. She was banned (temporarily) from Facebook and did not have a clue other than it stated something about inappropriate posting.

Anyway, long story, turns out it was the ex of her daughter who was just causing problems. It was discovered he reported my SIL but she had no way to rebut her case. She had to wait awhile, can't remember how long. The photo could easily be accessed and it would show nothing was wrong but FB immediately blocked her.

Like you said, some things just don't make sense.

Thank you, @loriqvc!  Always good to see you, too!  Been under the weather for quite some time, but I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.  I do hope you're doing well.❤️

@cjm61.  Ask the mods.  They're the ones who have all the control over our posts.

Qvcsocialteam@qvc.com

I clicked on a notification yesterday and got a message that I was not authorized to access that function.

I just skipped it.  Figured it was a glitch.
