Companies may do it; it doesn't make it ethical. And some states may have laws in place to make it illegal.
The consumer should always have the right to decide how his/her information is shared. Especially when it's being sold to other companies without your permission, as a source of income for the company selling it - and no benefit to the person whose information is being sold.
That's JMO. There's enough hassle trying to keep on top of hackers and identity theft, without the customer not having any idea how many other businesses have your information.

😖 Scare tactics designed to bully and confuse.
All companies are using the same tactics.
When the say " Your business is important to us" and "We Value you as a customer" don't bank on it.
They also count on the fact that many people don't even bother to read the statement.

A few thoughts from a retired fraud investigator:
Just because an email or text looks like it's from a company you know doesn't mean it really is.
Be careful about unsubscribing. When you click anything in an email, the sender knows you're legit and will share your info with others, good and bad.
Block all the emails and texts you don't want.
Block & Report all emails and texts from unknown and unsolicited senders.
Never open emails from unknown senders. Block & report them.
If you have already opened an email, check the sender. I can right click on the sender field and see the the real sender. Some computers require more than one click or other ways to see it.
Never click on a link in an email unless you have repeatedly done business with them. Go to the website through your search engine instead.
**I can count on 1 hand how many companies' emails I trust enough to click.
**I don't click on links from anyone, including family and friends. Their viruses and scams can accidentally be passed on to you.
Know how your computer works.
Clear cookies, cache and history on a regular basis. I do it at least every other week but right away if accidentally clicking on something.

Does this new information pertain to all people with a QVC account or just Q card holders?

This is bad that companies sell our information. It shows the company needs money badly at any cost.
I have no problem not shopping or doing any business with companies that sell my information.

Just out of curiosity who here has read the entire terms of service and privacy policies of every website you've gone to?
Even if you don't have an account at a website between cookies and trackers a lot of information about each visitor is collected.
If you are on the internet there is no true privacy.
