I think this email is fake. Too many words with initial caps -- that does not look right.  I work for the federal government and our cyber security staff always advises us to look for typos, grammatical and format errors when receiving suspicious emails.  The use of the word "Babe" would be a definite red flag. Also, those type of "thank you for your purchase" messages would come immediately after a purchase not days after. When I get emails similar to this I always check the sender, by clicking on details. Almost every time is is a strange email address and not the one of the company it claims to be. I think they just cut and paste a logo or the company format from a legitimate email.

Re: Email from QVC

[ Edited ]

It's a reflection of the new "culture".   Just like Siri now replies,  "HMMMM?" or "UH, HUHHH?"    I called Apple and gave them my thoughts about that.

Why not just email the QVC Social team and find out if it is from QVC. Once you know you can let them know whether you found it offensive, or whatever.

They seem to be trying to rebrand. Maybe this is one of the attempts.

Evidently Babe was not always considered demeaning.

After reading ALL the replies I tried to go back into the original email.  I'm not a computer whiz but says has been removed.  Checked my trash - deleted emails - spam, etc.

Perhaps it was a hack either way I still find it amusing if that is the new marketing promo.  I looked at my emails from Q today and it's the same header but offering me other items.

Guess we will never know I don't give my email to retailers unless I specifically need to.  That's why I don't do pinterest because they ask for my info and many other places do to before you can access their sites.

Unfortunatley, "Babe" is what most young couples/marrieds use these days.  I know so many who call one another "Babe"!  It seems to have replaced all other terms of endearment like hon, honey, sweetheart, etc.

not sure why you said "unfortunately", but i know that my daughter and son in law call each other babe and hon. they are in their 20s.

my s/o calls me "babe" sometimes......and "love" and "dear" other times.

@homedecor1, I just purchased something very late last night and I got the usual email saying my order has been confirmed, they are preparing it for shipment, gave the order number, picture of what I bought, method of payment and details of the pricing. It was not signed at all and I was not addressed by name, either my own or a cutesy nickname. So if this is a new marketing strategy, they chose not to use it on me.

If this happens again, check who the sender was and make a note of it but don't click on anything at all from that email. Then reach out to QVC to let them know what you received.

On second thought looking at how it is phrased, "Thanks for shopping, Babe" with a comma after shopping it could be that they are not calling you Babe but Babe is the name of the person who sends the email. I went to school with someone who went by the name Honey so it could have read "Thanks for shopping, Honey."

Just trying to find a plausible explanation. I cannot imagine that QVC is OK with employees calling customers "Babe."

@50Mickey  what you said makes sense. The comma changes the meaning.

@homedecor1, I give you credit for reading the email. That's more than I do. I'll I look for is "We received your order" or "You're order has shipped."  Everything else is delete, delete, delete.
