Please don't try to pass off oatmeal squares and mini's as a replacement for the goodness of the whole fruit. It's one thing to sell these on tv as a snack/treat but to send a false message that they are better than the natural fruit product is just ridiculous. Read up on proper nutrition and you'll know what NOT to say. "EAT TO LIVE", "FORKS OVER KNIVES", "Engine #2" to name a few.

I agree, they are just trying to sell product and we have to be informed enough not to fall for the sales ploy.

The people who wrote those books were in it for the money as well. If one wants to learn about nutrition, get information from reliable sources such as a nutritionist, registered dietitian, physician, nurse, or diabetic educator.
Please do not rely on shopping channels, shopping channel forums, or internet searches for any sort of reliable health or dietary advice.

Fruit is my first choice. There are times when fruit is not a great option. I like to have Corazonas or Kind Bars for on the go snacks when fruit is not a practical option. I will have a Corazonas or Kind bar when en route to a meeting- I can unwrap the package and not touch the bar- I don't want sticky fingers on the way to a meeting- hand sanitizer does not address sticky fingers. And if you are in the car, what do you do with orange peels, apple cores, ect? With fruit you also risk dripping juice on your clothes. I love Honeybells or anything citrus, but there is no way I'm eating that unless I can sit down fairly uninterrupted.
