Re: Easy pay is not a good deal!!!

I don't care for the way they present Easy Pay in their selling technique: the host and vendor if there is one, both gasp and carry on and on about how much you can get it home for. And how they just can't believe the Q is giving this to the customer. And the way they use it so cautiously and extend it as a special gift to you.

Sorry, I don't consider it much of anything but a ploy to get you to buy more. Same with their Buy More and Save $4. or $5. and 1/2 off S&H on the others. Come on, they can put two same items together and ship them together. It's not rocket science. All of the above benefit the Q, and they're not gifting you with anything. All my catalogs offer something like $l0. off and free S&H.

I know it helps some buy more, but you have a convenience, not a savings. And when Easy Pay is applied, you buy more, pay the same, and the Q makes more. That's the end game.

Re: Easy pay is not a good deal!!!

I wanted a sweater that was "as is", and it's on three easy pays. "As is" items are never on easy pay, but they are discounted almost 1/2 of the original. That is where the easy pay is worth it to me.!

bareMinerals website has free shipping (no minimum purchase) and 20% off. FYI.

I ordered mascara from them, instead of QVC. QVC doesn't have any specials on bareMinerals.

No, it isn't. The only "good deal" it is for is QVC and they've made it pretty clear that that is all they care about.

Yep. Offering people a way to stretch their budget before the holidays is a horrible idea!

By the way, who is holding a gun to YOUR head making you choose the EZ pay option. Just don't choose it!

agree.

It's the only incentive they offer and while it can be a good one, no, it doesn't replace actual discounts... What would be nice is for them to at least occasionally offer incentives that actually save customers money... discounts, reduced shipping along with Easy Pay might be a more winning combination.

It is a good deal if you pay off your credit card IN FULL every month.

You are correct. The hosts emphasize "no interest", but that isn't true if you don't pay off your credit card in full each month. I can see how people can get in an easy pay "trap" and have these items on their card for a long time and not realize how much more it is costing them. There was a thread a while back where some said they didn't realize how many different "easy pays" that had used at once and all those $9's, $12's, $19's add up. I never use easy pay any more because I use one of the rebate companies. I also would much rather get free or a big discount in shipping instead of easy pay.

Re: Easy pay is not a good deal!!!

Also, when they say "you can get it home for $9.00" and six easy pays that is not correct. It is over $9.00 in each payment because the shipping cost and tax isn't included in the $9.00. When that is added in and pro-rated, each payment will be more than $9.00.
