I have had that also.  I guess its the new way.  Someone explained the s&h is also for processing the order (handling) so in a nutshell when you order it is not known if you have any other orders it can be combined with but QVC saves money if you do!

I am all for combining orders to save on shipping material, but I agree moneywise it is in their favor not ours!

With so many complaints I've thought about this....and I've had Amazon combine orders - but in a fair way.  I can order a garden tool - then hours later order something for the dog - and add on a CD music recording.  Amazon collects all these items and ship in one box......but ....the difference is Amazon most likely  offered 2 of the items as free shipping. So I paid for one to be shipped and the other 2 items road along for free.

Even though the weight of the box increased.

QVC doesn't offer such 'perks'.  If an item does offer free s/h - it's one item in the box.

The truth of the matter is, QVC uses shipping and handling charges as another source of revenue.  They really stick it to their customers on shipping.  I often see things on air, then find them on other sites with either free, or cheaper shipping.  The items are almost always cheaper than on QVC, too.  Most other sites charge shipping on the total of your order.  When you reach a certain point, shipping is free.  Not QVC, they will stab their customers any chance they get!  If other places can offer free shipping like that, QVC should too!  QVC takes advantage of loyal customers, they never reward them.  Shop other places, you will see.  I've found some excellent customer service on other sites, too.  QVC can charge what they want for shipping, and I can shop other sites that respect their customers!

@fthunt  Nailed it!!!  And just a couple more reasons why I joined prime after years of 'light' shopping, I do a lot a shopping at amazon.

Amazon also gives you some time before they begin processing so if you forgot something you can go back and to that same order. Monthly prime is less than 2 returns on q label. There's something to think about. I buy so many things there that I used to get here, clothing, shoes, beauty items (yes I feel safe buying makeup at amazon). I get my stuff in 2 days for free and can return it for free.

But, on Amazon shipping is free...so I don't care how they package it!!  BUT, when I'm paying the shipping I don't want them combining it....QVC!!!

Re: EXPLAIN THIS...SHIPPING

[ Edited ]

Thinking out loud ...

I don't understand the loyality of QVC customers when they get treated this way.

And No, I no longer shop at the Q, but I was a happy and loyal customer for many years once upon a time when

"Quality Value Convenience" meant something.

edited: @highmaintenancejan .... I've read threads about this topic and other complaints, so I just wanted to clarify "customers" in general here... not just you. Heart

Because you pay by the weight and two items weigh more than one?

It is also great that orders at Am——on can help your favorite charity. .05% of your order goes to your favorite charity through Am———-on Smile.
