I also received this email this morning.
How disappointing they will be discontinuing the return
labels. I sometimes don't get the labels and have to print one out. The thing I DISLIKE is $6.50 return postage is automatically taken off even if an item is defective or damaged. I have had to call to have the return postage credited back to me, but only when they receive the item back... They do not automatically credit the return postage when returning defective items. So be aware of this.... I am a very good customer and do order alot, well now I will think twice about It!!!!!

@dancing 522queen Just email QVCSocialteam@qvc.com and they will handle the credit. They are fast and customer friendly. Also, the return postage is $6.95.

I've been using the QR code for my returns snce last year. It's in the return instructions online.
I just take the package to UPS and they scan it from my phone. Takes less than a minute.
I do realize that not everyone has a UPS store nearby.

So, no longer providing that little slip of paper is how they're going to make money. Huh, who knew. This is right in line with the nationwide, perhaps worldwide, demise of customer service. Hey, let the customer do all the work, and the corollary, everything must be done electronically. What it means for me is that I'll be very sure of something before I chance it. What that probably means for them is fewer purchases. There won't be a huge difference, but there will be some.

@walker wrote:I received the same email. Fortunately, I don't buy as much or make returns often anymore. I prefer the way it was but can do other, if needed, as long as printer works. 😉 Not sure on using QR code...ok, if it works as well. This could be a problem for older shoppers who have been a large base of QVC.
This is going to be huge for many elderly, my mom being one of them. She doesn't have a smart phone or use the internet. She sent a gift to someone recently but the recipient had no idea who sent it since the return slip with her name on it wasn't in the package. She definitely won't be ordering much now. Unfortunately she is out of state so I can't help.

It is a move that more or less discounts many older customers and those who aren't wiling or able to accept technology as the way to go. I've seen it stated that with the low price of printers these day.... and on and on, but that really isn't the point. It might be the wave of the present and future, but customers should not be forced to ante up or move on, especially by retailers who are hurting. QVC is not the only one doing this, but most others have the option of many brick and mortar stores or at least outlets to which customers can make returns. QVC does not offer those options.

@stevieb Also, when I return merchandise to Macy's I need to print a label and take to UPS. There is no store close to my home. The big difference is return shipping is free. That helps with costs.

@elated you have to be a "star member" of macys to get free return shipping, otherwise it is $9.99.

I think this is what bothers me the most--having to call every single time I send an incorrect or defective return to get my shipping credited!
I admit that my ordering has dwindled lately (from all stores, not just QVC), but the more inconvenient it get here means I will be ordering even less. Just the opposite of what they need to right their ship.
