I don't like babe, hon or you guys.  I have a friend who recently started calling me "babe" in texts.  I figure someone probably called her that and she thought it was cute.  No, it's not.  Hoping it's just a phase. lol

'Guys' used  to mean just a group of men, but, as language often does, it has changed to mean any  group of people, regardless of sex.

I see some posters addressing others as hon. It doesn’t matter to me. I don’t understand what the big deal is.

If I was addressed as babe or hon by women or men I would nicely let it be known I do not like either.  I have a name and that is what I want to be called.  Just my opinion.

I called my grnadmother Babe.

It was a term of love.

She was the youngest of 7 sisters and was the "baby" of her immediate family.

She had nieces and nephews call her Aunt Buddy and I always called her Babe. She signed her cards to me -either Grandma or Babe. 

I look at it as a term of endearment.
