Re: Do you think QVC will stop accepting checks?

I still use paper checks for several of my bills:  credit cards, one or two of the utilities, paying gardener, sometimes for gifts.

@insomniac2

how do you do that other than using your paypal account?

on their website it does not say that they accept checks and when i checkout there is no check payment available?

What payment options are available?

Credit Cards

  • We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club.
  • Debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logo are also accepted.
  • Check-debit and international credit cards are not accepted.

Digital Wallet Services

  • HSN is PayPal Verified and we accept PayPal as a method of payment.
  • HSN accepts use of VISA Checkout.
    • Any purchase made through VISA Checkout will be charged to the selected credit card used for that purchase.
    • All future FlexPayments (if applicable) will also be charged to that credit card.
  • HSN accepts use of Mastercard's Masterpass.
  • HSN accepts use of Apple's Apple Pay.

HSN-Specific Payment Forms

  • You may use the HSN Card for purchases from HSN as well as the HSN Mastercard, which can be used everywhere Mastercard is accepted.
  • HSN's Spendable KA$H (merchandise credit) can be used toward purchases. (Some exclusions apply such as charitable donations, etc.)

Sunshine45, I wrote that HSN had accepted checks at one time. . .now they obviously don't. I had an HSN credit card for several years, but the interest was horrific. Now I use my debit card.

The best part about writing checks is you have longer to change mind on your purchase.

I think the reason for Pay Pal is some people can't pay by credit card or check. And that way they can make purchases.

i think they should stop taking paper checks in the mail and switch over to accepting online checks. buyers would have to input their routing number and account number when they are placing their orders.

i think more people use the check feature to "hold" items than they actually do to purchase items.

@sunshine45, I've thought this for years.  I've always had an issue with people putting something on check hold and waiting for reviews to come in.

Online banking is actually safer than mail. If you pay in person, that's fine, bumailboxes get broken into regularly.  There ate quite a lot of places that no longer take checks or even cash  For instance, you can't buy Costco gas with either .

Re: Do you think QVC will stop accepting checks?

I received an email from QVC advising that as of August 18th - they will no longer accept checks as a form of payment.  This is a surprise and truely disappointing as I have been doing a STEADY business with them for 35 years!  They don't ship your product until the check clears So there is no reasonable business decision for doing this to their loyal customers.  I have spent a TREMENDOUS amount of money with QVC, but am going back to some other vendors I always love as I have a serious problem with this.
