This is just for fun, because everyone seems a little stressed out today.
I do not have a gift closet. What I do have is a closet full of wrapping paper, boxes, tape, and ribbons, all in a huge, disorganized mess.
I also have some things I’ve purchased over the years that were intended as gifts, but which I never got around to giving, usually because I found something else for the intended recipient. These are scattered around the house in various inconvenient places; I occasionally come across them as I work to declutter my domicile (a huge, ongoing project).
Hmm … maybe, just maybe, I could somehow combine the wrapping-paper closet with the un-given gifts closet. Hmmm (strokes chin thoughtfully)

Re: Do you have a gift closet?

I am not stressed out today!😂😂 In fact, I feel quite the contrary!🥰 OF COURSE you can combine the wrapping paper and gifts into one closet and make it a "gift" closet if you so choose.😊 Just by what I have read, you have enough things to put in one central closet; hence you have a gift closet!😁

Happy organizing!🥰

@DrumPounder I may have missed something, but I don't get the "everyone seems a little stressed out today" comment. I've had a great relaxing day today.

To answer your question, I do have a gift closet. Some items are designated for certain people and other items are what I found to be cool and unique or different, and of course, at a great bargain. My closet takes up an entire bedroom wall, floor to ceiling. So, half are gifts and the other half contains gift wrap, including Christmas wrap.

I thoroughly enjoy Christmas in July since I have already started my Christmas shopping and I try to have the majority of it done during the summer with less stress. I know many don't have the same feelings as I have regarding CIJ, but these shows put me in a very happy place.

Re: Do you have a gift closet?

yes.

i buy gifts and backups as i see them throughout the year.   it's stored on a dedicated shelf in a large closet

i have no desire to try to find something to purchase on demand when i need it.  this is not joyous to me and i refuse to settle.

~~today may be my last.....i choose JOY!~~

I agree with some others, I did not feel stressed out today. I also do not have a gift closet.

Re: Do you have a gift closet?

When I first heard the a host say "gift closet" I envisioned a huge walk-in closet just for gifts😀. After i thought about it, I could see that having an area (closet, drawer, basement corner) to keep designated gifts and/or "just in case" items can make sense. I don't have an area, but I do have an ongoing list in my notes app to jot down ideas all year long, so when I'm ready to shop I can work off the list. I have just four people to shop for, but they have everything, so it's nice to have a few options at the ready (I end up going the gift card route often).

Re: Do you have a gift closet?

I don't have a gift closet per say but I do keep a box in my closet and I pick stuff up throughout the year that I see for last-minute gifts.

Re: Do you have a gift closet?

I sort of have a gift closet. The top shelf of one of my closets has a box filled with a few nice home and kitchen items that would make a great gift basket for a bridal shower, housewarming party, or similar occasion, along with a couple of "neutral gifts" that could come in handy if I ever needed a last-minute present for an acquaintance or co-worker. Also on that shelf are some plastic bins with all kinds of gift wrapping elements, such as flat wrap, tissue paper, gift bags, ribbon, and bows, and tucked behind the clothing below are three or four rolls of wrapping paper and a roll of brown kraft paper.

Interestingly, though, during the year when I buy things in advance for holiday gifts, they don't go in the gift closet—they get hidden under the bed in the guest room.  Smiley Happy
