Is it possible the QVC and Southwest Airlines are sharing or are using similar computer systens?

One nice thing, I've only seen one "QVC ruined our Christmas" post, which is a lot more than Southwest can say.  They trashed thousands of them, like a Grinch.

Prior to this past holiday fiasco, Southwest has always been famous for great customer care. I'm not sure QVC has as good of a long term track record in that area....just saying....I honestly feel a little sorry for Southwest.

Agreed.  I can see weather delays but with all the "bail out" money the airlines have received there is no excuse for any of this nonsense.  Flying in general has become a total nightmare.  ALL the airlines need to improve.   We just started to travel again this year and it truly is a Sh*t Show.

We've made several trips the past couple of years and have had no problems.  We fly either American or United and have TSA pre-check.  I guess we were lucky???

Southwest has been the leader in low cost fares. The adage you get what you pay for applies here. They have not invested in software that places employees and planes to match reservations taken. Using 90's software that crashes in heavy demand. If they update they will no longer be the low cost airlines. They will pass the cost on to their customers.

@kaydee50 I agree. Between my husband and I we fly at least 15 times a year, that is including both my husband and my own flights. Rarely do we fly Southwest. We only fly non-stop flights and most of them stop somewhere. We have no problems with Alaska. Yeah, not a fan of flying much but I rarely have any problems. It's just the same ole thing, book early to get better deals, show up early to avoid stressful moments, and just look forward to your destination.

On that note, I can't say I feel sorry for Southwest. This is their own doing. I do feel bad for the employees that are dealing directly with customers though. My daughter and her family were to fly out last night and were not informed of the cancellation until hours and hours later. She could not get a hold of anybody. The very least Southwest could have done was have their phone message state an apology and let the customers know when they would be available. Needless to say, my daughter was able to get one of the last rental cars and are now driving from Carlsbad Ca. to  Denver area with an 8 month old. She thinks it will be no problem and her baby will just sleep the whole time, this is an 18 hour drive with no stopping. LOL, we shall see. It IS her first baby so this is new to her.

People still want to travel without incident when so many major cities are under blizzard warnings and in terrible snow storms?   What did they expect?  Do people just ignore weather forecasts?

Yes I know people have to travel, but those probably are far outnumbered by those who want to travel who unfortunately get stranded, and then spread flu, covid and that respiratory virus happy holidays to all.  Woman Frustrated

It doens't even have to be your departure, connection, or destination city having bad weather.  When Chicago, Atlanta, and DC have bad weather, it stacks up other airports as well.

@Sooner   me and you must be long lost sisters. I was going to reply with a obvious common sense comment, but, I don't need the grief.

We seem to be the only ones that think clear.

common sense is still stranded somewhere out on the

cargo supply ships.  Duh ?
