I need more info on how to do this. Got the Synchrony letter yesterday about no more paper statements. I have no other credit card, just a debit. Can that be used for easy pay and how do you receive your bill? By email? Thanks.

I believe you can use a debit card for easy pay, but, I'm not sure what you mean aboout getting your bill. With the debit card you would not get a bill.   The money is taken out of your checking account every month.

I think you can only use credit cards for Easy Pay.

This is what it says on the Q FAQ's:

Enjoy Now

  • With an Easy Pay offer, you can receive an item now and pay monthly installments at no extra charge.
  • Pay with your QCard®, major credit card, or PayPal account.

So if I keep my Q card, how do you get your bill? Email or do I have to sign up on the Synchrony site?

@frenchie

Yes, Synchrony is going to charge $1.99 to mail any statements for ALL the cards they oversee which includes Q, HSN, Lowes, JCP, Amazon and probably others.

They are not the first to go this route, my bank did it years ago as well as 2 other credit cards I have.

I will not pay that so I signed up all for paperless.

They email me when a card has posted for the month and I can go to their site to view it, pay it....or print it myself.

You can still mail a check payment in, but you would need to print the stub page and provide your own envelope etc.

PS  Postage is going up AGAIN on July 14, so online payments are making more and more sense.

I only use my Chase Debit Card with the Visa logo for Easy Pay. It's deducted directly from my Checking Account monthly.

@geezerette you can use a debit card for easy pays. As long as it has the VISA logo, it is used the same as a credit card. There is no bill, the payments come directly out of your bank account.

I use my debit card for easy pay on the Q. It's a great way to budget and stay out of debt.

Of course you can outright cancel your card. I did years ago. I only use my debit card the few times I order and still get the easy pay options. Not sure owning a Qcard has any perks that would make me want to keep using it. Just go to the website and you can do it all online.

Actually closing any credit card account lowers your available open credit and therefore your credit score.  If you do decide to actually close it, make sure Synchrony adds a note saying  "closed by customer request " to your record.
