Because of higher wages in the US, prices will be as high or higher than imports with added tarrifs. A no winners situation.

Hopefully, this will mean U.S. manufacturing will return.  I'm up for better quality everything.

General Electric is moving manufacturing for some washers and dryers to Kentucky.  I'm sure other products will again be manufactured here.

@Sunshine Kate a few companies have small centers for SOME manufacturing. American companies in general are not going to spend years and millions of dollars building manufacturing centers. Never Gonna Happen, regardless of the person that continues to say that.

I don't believe all these ramped up pricing is due to tarriffs

I think it's price gauging and I will not participate.  I've been very discriminate about what I purchase and what I pay.

I would like to ask you all, and respectfully, do you buy all your clothes and items made in the US? People have to put their money where their mouth is. So far it hasn't worked.  Once Wally World, and other took manufacturing overseas... everyone forgot about our neighbors and friends who worked in US factories and lost jobs, and because  shoppers were going to Walmart and Costco, and the ilk. Where was everyone then? .  They were sad, but didn't want to sacrifice.  Buying clothes here (QVC) is not supporting US factories.    us millionaires may own them, but it is the COO that is benefiting.

and yes, I buy all my clothes, shoes etc from factories here in US. It costs a little more so,etimes...but I am supporting my neighbors, and the US. I have rebuilt my baths and kitchen with items all from the US, it can be done, and beautifully.  We have amazing artisans. The only thing you can't get here in US is nails, and some screws.

I don't have any problem with people buying their things from where they want. But if you complain about the situation, you need to change what you are doing to make a difference.

I do put my money into conscience purchases

I try to buy clothing made here and refuse to buy mass produced items

I agree the big box stores are just open shelves of items made offshore and mass produced

It takes time to seek out American made

I'm not a shopper by nature but like anyone I have to buy what is needed

socks, under garments, shoes, etc

If I buy high quality it generally is made in other places

My down coat for example was made in Canada

Tarrifs.  The new supplies coming in will be much higher.  Each country has different tarrifs.  The trend has been away from China to South East Asia.

Why do they pay 3 hosts at a time to present one item?  Than what they do is charge the consumer more for the product to compensate.

Give the Tariffs a chance to work.
