On David's Coffee Talk Thursday, he seemed like death-warmed-over, coughing continuosly and wiping his nose. He said he tested negative for COVID, so he wasn't contageous, but he most certainly could give other people at QVC his bad cold germs. A few commenters asked why not stay home, and then he said it would inconvenience others at QVC. When he did his shift, he was coughing a lot and seemed not well at all.
I'll never understand people going to work when you can get others sick.

People had plans for Mom's day.....he did the right thing

It's possible David knows he has allergies like so many other people right now and also knows he's not contagious.

@longtimeqvcwatcher It was very common when I was working to come to work sick. Before Covid, co-workers were always coming to work because their positions could not be covered. Many would announce they didn't feel well and would be drinking the Medicine Ball from Starbucks.
After Covid, people are more sensitive to it but there are people that have no real options. It definitely put a lot of stress on my other co-workers if I was out. They preferred I showed up and kept my distance and took as many precautions as possible than to stay home.

When I worked people would get very upset if we went to work ill. We could work from home though so that made it easier. I'm sure if David is contagious he didn't want a mom to have to come to work.

Agree with @Kachina624, it may be allergies. I cough & sneeze, have runny nose a lot & its my ever present allergies.

Oh get over it. People get colds all the time and survive. Have for centuries.

People get a cold or have allergies. Big deal.
I'm sure a lot of people were off work on Mother's Day.
Good for David.

On Easter Sunday while waiting for our breakfast order, both nostrils starting running nonstop and then both eyes began flowing as though I were crying. Thank goodness I had a good supply of tissues with me. Made it home in time to open a box of them.
By the time I met with my PCP at noon the next day, I had gone through 3 boxes...nonstop, no sleeping. Then the coughing started. COVID test: negative.
The sudden onset: Allergies. Since I only would get the sniffles in September, I found it hard to believe. He gave me Zyrtec and said get Delsym Liquid for the cough. It took 8-10 days to feel normal again....and 17 boxes of tissues.
I didn't see the program @longtimeqvcwatcher @saw with David but the runny nose suggests he and I had the same thing. I looked like death warmed over the first 2 days also. DH had no symptoms whatsoever !
Now that I think back, about 2 years ago while in Naples, FL on Palm Sunday, the church there had big, long palm branches given to everyone and they proceeded into the church waving them and kept them going during the Mass.
For 2-3 days my eyes itched, nose ran, and coughing ensued. Okay: allergic to palm pollen !
Back home: no idea what the pollen(s) was (were) !!!

People love to say they have allergies when they are, in fact, sick.
Regardless, if your eyes are dripping, you are spewing snot and hacking, I don't want to be around you. Period.
