Good heavens, it is NOT that simple for everyone,

Gosh, some people have MEDICAL reasons why they can't lose weight such as thyroid issues, low metabolism, certain medications etc.

Ease off!

Re: David Venable is disappearing!

Leah Williams lost a lot of weight a few years back. I don't follow her on any social media. But on QVC, I NEVER heard her talk about it at all. She graciously accepted the compliments from other hosts and vendors, and then moved on to do her job. The ONLY thing I ever heard her say during her journey was that she was loving her air fryer. That could mean she was doing some sort of low carb and eating more meat. She may have talked about it elsewhere, but like I stated, I did not hear her talk about it on QVC. Frankly, I don't think it is anyone else's business about how one loses weight.

David looks great and hopefully he will inspire others to lose some weight if they need too. Not only does one look better but it is so much better for overall health! Too many really overweight people any more.

Re: David Venable is disappearing!

@amyb, walnuts and other nuts are eaten on keto diets since they are a good source of fats and fiber. There is nothing special about them, other than they are usually on recommended lists if you are following a keto eating plan.

David has said many times that he is eating low-carb, low-sugar and that he is using a modified version of keto. I have been very successful in following the Dirty, Lazy Keto plan. It will be 2 years in February. I am not sure how David "modifies" his plan, but he has been talking lately about whole wheat pasta and whole wheat pizza crust and acts as though they are keto alternatives. They are NOT. Anything with wheat (whole or otherwise) is not considered low carb.

Re: David Venable is disappearing!

I lost over 25 lbs. last winter and spring when I ate low carb. I have regained 5 lbs since I stopped low carb. I have been eating bread and some sweets. I need to go low carb again.

And there are many other things that factor into whether a person can successfully lose weight and maintain the loss -- social/cultura/life circumstances, psychological issues, etc. If it were easy, you wouldn't see so many people who truly want to lose weight struggle so mightily with it (many for their whole lives). For some, it takes an incredible amount of mental energy and regimented, constant attention to what they eat, and it is very easy to get "burned out." I have family members who struggle with weight, and I have nothing but empathy and compassion for them.

@amybwrote: Can you explain what makes a walnut "keto?" That's confusing to me since usually I think of keto products as subs for carb and sugar, neither of which I think of nuts having in them by nature ....or could be taken out of a nut if they were? Just wondering.

thanks and this website may provide some helpful information on Walnuts

For many, there are psychological and physiological reasons for having difficulty with food/eating and weight issues. They aren't "excuses" they are reasons. It's best not to see everything from one's one perspective or experience.
