@yamma024   I'm sure that's not literally what David is doing.  Have a little fun with it.

David posts lots of photos of Gus on his social media pages.  Often they're cute "Where's Gus?" photos.  So David is probably just keeping it light, and preferring not to go into personal reasons for stepping back --  whatever they are.

Re: David Dangle stepping back

The standard reason for leaving is "To spend more time with my family", which I doubt is the case in most situations.  He is just using a variation of that phony excuse.

I agree with you, @Caaareful Shopper.😊  The comment about Gus was a lighthearted, less formal note, most likely since as you said Gus has been a favorite of those who follow David's social media.

Here's David's post from his Facebook account:

"Over 30 years ago Joan and I created the Classics Collection for QVC.  I’ve always worn two hats: as designer/creative director of the collection and on-air guest.  After much consideration, I’ve decided to step back from my on-air role and focus my energy on the design and creation of the products.  My chic and stylish colleague, Bitsy Jennings will continue to do an amazing job - now as our primary on-air guest.  She has been and will continue to be my muse and my “blank canvas” and work with me in the continuation of Joan’s vision.  Bitsy’s a rock star on air and I’m blown away by how she styles my designs.  I’m so looking forward to focusing on designing the collection for you and I know you’re going to love all the new things we have coming your way.  (And I might get to spend a bit more time with my boy Gus, too!)"

@Glitter51    I agree and for some reason everything is 100% cotton which is high maintenance.  I think David's design capabilities are very limited.

I much prefer Bitsy's presentations.  David talks too much, says little, just toots his own horn.

@Kachina624, Isn't that interesting how we can watch probably the same presentations yet come away with such different reactions. 😊   I've been a fan of Joan's since her first presentation (I actually did see her first entry into the QVC world and made a point of checking the schedule for her shows all the many years after), so I saw David quite often.   My impression was of a modest, respectful man who seemed to prefer to step back and let others have the spotlight.   His background in design is rather extensive and I thought his comments were spot on...  but I understand that's subjective.   (Btw, I have a couple of Joan's big shirts, and I love the fabric and the great pockets!  After a few washings, they're soft and don't really require much maintenance at all.)

@Glitter51 A lot of people wear what you consider to be dated and boring.  Does that affect how you look at them or what you would say to them about how they dress?

I am dated and boring, but it's who I am.

I must protest, @Sooner!❤️  You're neither dated nor boring...  and I like you just the way you are, current and interesting!😊

I have a few of Joan's fashions as well.  Nice pieces and quality.  Very good line.  Like all lines some pieces just are not for me.  I pick and choose what I like.  I find the quality of the line there.

Just because I don't care for some of the pieces in a line doesn't mean it's a no go on everything.

I think the quality of clothes will not be the same as time goes on.  Cost of making is rising.  I'm picking up quality  pieces that I can wear for a very long time.  I'm hanging on to them as well.

I will  miss David too.  Time comes for all of us to sit  back and relax.

I can actually consider cutting back to spend more time with a dog!

No better way to spend time!❤️

Before I lived with my oldest granddog, we often doggie sat for my son's oldest and if I had to go to the store I'd tell him "Grandma will be right back!" I hated to leave him at all!

Re: David Dangle stepping back

I liked David's stories about Joan.

One thing I always hoped to get was her square neck black dress. So classic and in the days before all this icky stretchy hot material that clings everywhere. I think it was a sort of lined linen. But my size was never available.
