@catlover   I have not tried them but I can tell you many of us on these boards are now getting soy candles made in the USA from independent companies.  Too ,many candles are manufactured in Vietnam or even worse CHINA !   Unfortunately few disclose the fact up front.  Please be sure to check country of origin when purchasing candles because the Chinese candles may contain toxic lead.

@Reever : PLEEZE!  You speak for "many of us"?  I buy Goose Creek because they burn clean, last long and smell good.  I don't give a rip where they are made!

@catlover -

There was a recall of DW Home candles sold in Nov and Dec with wooden wicks due to toxic fumes.

Just search DW Home recall.

They are supposed to be made in the US.

@Reever -

That is a good reminder about wax that release toxic fumes, those made with some types of parrafin wax.

(refined parrafin wax is deemed safe by the usda, though how are we to tell?)

Wicks with a lead base were banned in 2003, including any imported candles with those wicks.

  I had forgotten about all this.

Any person who cares about their health should definitely give a "rip."

I too would be wary of candles made in China because their safety regulations (even though lead based wicks imported to US were banned),

just cannot be trusted.

@patbz -

If you follow the candle loving posts here, I think you'll see that many are very aware of these safety tips. "Many" may not speak for you and that's ok.

Goose Creek candles btw are non toxic and made in the US.

"It is also important to note that all of the paraffin wax used to make Goose Creek candles has been determined to be a non-toxic, clean-burning fuel source by regulatory agencies in charge of monitoring candle manufacturing.Dec 18, 2018"-from Goose Creek Candle.com

I do love candles and wouldn't want to not have them, but I guess I'll be more careful in the ones I buy.

@catlover My sister just "tried" to give me a candle that she bought from DW Home, but our hair stylist loved it so she gave it to her!

We go to a salon where each stylist has their own room & my sister had brought me a Warm Tobacco Pipe candle.

She had been at someone's home that was burning the candle & she liked it, so she ordered from DW Home.

She ordered 8 of the 3 wick candles, so I still get one.

It smelled great & I can't wait to get mine.
