Do you have to contact Customer Service first?  Can I just send it back with the proper paperwork?

TIA

Re: DOING A FASHION EXCHANGE

Just do the paperwork,  and wait, and wait............and wait some more.

If you want to reorder something in another  size or color ,I recommend ordering the new item yourself and just send back your return alone.you will have your replacement sooner than if you leave it up to them to do it .

Re: DOING A FASHION EXCHANGE

I have had good luck just filling out the paperwork and sending the item back for an exchange.   It does take a while to receive it though.  For me I think it usually takes about 3 weeks to receive the exchange from the time I drop my package off at the post office.

No need to contact CS unless you have to confirm the size you want is available.  And be sure that it IS available because if not, they will credit you the refund LESS the return shipping.  This is the one caveat with the Q's 'free exchanges' policy.

Re: DOING A FASHION EXCHANGE

I did it once.  Item I wanted was available.  (needed different size)  When my item got to QVC, I guess the size was no longer available.  I got credit minus the shipping and minus the shipping I originally paid.  Just my experience.  Another reason why I seldom buy clothing from QVC.

I only did it once. I called, and they offered to process it for me on the phone and ship it out so I wouldn't have to wait a million years.  That worked out well.

Re: DOING A FASHION EXCHANGE

Grouchomarx seems to have something here.  HSN used to do it that way all the time.  With QVC if I am desperate for the item I order immediately, if I'm iffy I'll ask for an exchange.  Sometimes I get it and sometimes it sells out in the meantime.

Re: DOING A FASHION EXCHANGE

@fitfuninformed and @Daysdee - If you were charged for the return shipping when you requested an exchange but your request could not be fulfilled, your order was not properly processed. Per QVC's free exchange policy, if the item size/color/whatever you request is not available for an exchange when your original item return is received, you should get a full refund minus your original shipping (I added the bold font to the final line below):

What's your policy for exchanges?

If you're not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, our return policy allows you to send back returns-eligible merchandise within 30 days of the date you received the package for an exchange. Simply use the Q Return Label within 30 days of receipt to return your item for a free replacement of the same item in a different color or size. If your request for an exchange results in any additional merchandise or shipping costs, and you paid by credit card, your credit card will be charged for those additional costs. Payment methods other than a credit card may result in an order cancellation & a refund may be issued. If the requested exchange is no longer available, including items on waitlist and advance order, QVC will issue a refund and not deduct the Q Return Label fee.

I've experienced several instances when the size or color of an item I wanted to exchange for was unavailable when QVC received my item return and exchange request, and I was not charged for using the Q return label in those cases.

Re: DOING A FASHION EXCHANGE

Besides calling to organize it, you could also try a live chat on the website. I did live chat yesterday and it was so easy and painless and I loved not having to speak to anyone (I hate the phone).  They responded quickly, unlike some online chats that take forever.
