DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO POST PICTURES NOW?

It used to be fairly easy, but now I have no clue as to how to post. I used to upload here, mouse desktop, then I could insert the image and post it, but now it doesn't work that way.

@mousiegirl. There are instructions in "Welcome, Get Started" in the menu in the left column. I'll be glad to help you if you need it.

It used to be one action, you uploaded the photo from your computer and then posted it to your thread.

Now, you have to upload the photo from your computer to QVC, then choose the photo from 'your uploaded pics' on QVC to be able to post it in a thread.

Hope I made sense, LOL!

@KingstonsMom I couldn't find the uploaded, all I saw was downloaded, so will see what I can figure out, may have to get DH involved with the instructions Q has, boggled my mind, lol.

@mousiegirl, The method of adding images hasn't changed. What has changed is that over a year ago (in November 2018), the website encountered some sort of database degradation that slowed access to some (many) user profiles.

We can see evidence of this glitch when we click on certain nicknames and then wait for minutes and minutes and minutes before the profile finally loads and displays the poster's list of posts, heart activity, and images.

When we upload an image the system has to access our profile. So... it runs into this very same problem we see when we click on our nickname.

It takes so long that it appears to us the image isn't loading but in fact it is... the software has to add it to our image album first, then makes it available for us to insert into a post.

Looking at your albums, you'll see many recent images that are duplicates... very likely you were trying to upload them directly into a post, you waited a minute, it seemed not to be working, so you exited the process and tried again (not realizing the pix were there in your albums).

I explained all this in another thread maybe a month or so ago. I'll find that and add it here in case it's helpful. I think it's ridiculous that QVC's IT support staff hasn't addressed and resolved this user file database problem, by the way.

Here's a copy of part of my first post in a Customer Care thread in November:

This problem affects some users, not others. It's better at times, worse other times. It involves a very, very, very long delay in the upload process for new images. If the website in general is sluggish, you can bet the image loading problem will be worse than usual.

When we upload a new image to a post as a reply (note: not the same as a copy-and-paste from another site, not the same as inserting "From My Uploaded Images), there's a 3-step process.

The website first has to access our user profile, then add the image to an album, then add the image to our post.

When we click on "insert image" to try and upload a new pic to a post:

1 -- the software first accesses the user profile,

2 -- then adds the new image to our albums,

3 -- then it adds it to the post for us to see.

But... for some of us there is an extremely long wait during this step 3, and we think the process failed or the website froze, and we abandon the post.

I think this bug is the culprit: Over a year ago, last November, a major user database problem surfaced. It causes some user profiles to be very slow to load.

(Anyone who hasn't seen this, just click on my nickname, or the nicknames of those having problems uploading new images... I'll bet it takes up to 2 or 3 minutes for our profiles to display.) It has been reported countless times, but IT has done nothing to fix it.

I believe this software bug is the underlying cause of the major delay in adding new images to posts at times. I know it doesn't happen always, or to all of us with slow-to-access profiles... but I think the problem resides somewhere in that user file database degradation.

The basic solution is that if we use the "Insert/edit image" icon, "Choose File," and select the pic, if we wait long enough (again, might be 2 or 3 minutes), most of the time the image will appear and we can post it.

If we don't wait, and instead we exit the thread or cancel the post... we can see proof that the system did get the pix to our albums if we go there and look.

(Since it takes so long for us to access our profile and then look at our images albums, you might want to create a bookmark/favorite that goes directly to your image albums... that will be faster than clicking on your nickname first.)

This is my 2nd post from the November thread:

Here's a workaround I posted on a thread last summer when we were discussing this problem.

Use the normal steps, choosing the "Insert/edit image" icon, selecting the pic from your device with "Choose file," and then click/tap "INSERT IMAGE."

Allow several seconds or so to pass, keeping the display open. This allows the site to get the image into our albums.

Then, if the image hasn't been added to your post, click/tap the "X" in the upper right corner of the image dialogue pop-up box to close it out.

Remaining where you are, again try the "Insert/edit image" icon, but this time choose "From my uploaded images."

I think you'll find the new image there as the most recent one added, and it will be inserted quickly. Believe it or not, this method takes less time than simply waiting for our new image to upload to the post.
