I wish - after asking a vendor to describe an item - the host wouldn't cut them off - either to provide numbers still available, or because time is short.   Why bother having a vendor and asking them to provide an overview if they will be cut off?  I find it very uncomfortable and don't enjoy the shows as much.

You think it's easy doing their job????  Probably not.  They do not have a choice.  You do.

I think when this happens it's because the producer is telling them to say something in the earpiece and they must comply.  I've seen Shawn joke about how she got in trouble with a producer for not taking a cue or something like that.

Re: Cutting off vendor

[ Edited ]

The Jim Shore was, again, filled with rudeness like you mentioned and interruptions of the host's comments of her own family's experiences with cardinals and other Christmas ornaments! She would ask Jim a question, then interrupt him with her own shallow tales. This host doesn't seem to be able to carry on a real conversation. It didn't make any sense or have anything to do with what Jim was trying to convey. She only has a "canned" line of QVC-talk over and over. It was rude to Jim Shore and not helpful for the viewer (or the product).  Thanks for your post.

ETA: I did write an email to QVC. It's the second time I've complained about QVC placing her with Jim Shore. He deserves so much better.

Maybe if the producers read this forum,  they would find out that the audience doesn't appreciate not getting full descriptions of the products.

I agree.  Just the other day the vendor was on the verge of "babbling" .... and the host cut her off and I assumed was prompted to do so.

This has been an ongoing problem for a long time and many have complained and I am in full agreement.  So many times the host asks the vendor to talk about their, the vendor's, item and rarely do the hosts allow them to finish.  It is so rude and obnoxious and distracts from giving important comments about the product.  It is also the time I turn off and stop watching.  I go to the on line Q and go from there to buy or not.

Yes, it probably is the producer pushing the host to not forget to mention all those tiresome repetitive selling points go to colors constantly, and interrupt what is important.

Perhaps the format of the Q needs to make changes in presentations.  It has become very stale and who can out talk who.  I do not watch the shows as I used to but if I happen to put on something I like to see, I am reminded of why I shop on line Q.

Good idea and I will follow up also.  Jim Shore is a gentleman all the way through and he needs to be with a listener because his stories have much to do with this artwork.

We all know the bottom line is selling and profit.  It happens all over.  But there are changes which could be made and if the Q wants to please their customers, they should think about making changes here and there that would not only please the buyers, us, but boost sales.

Thanks for the suggestion!

The producers runs the show, and they are constantly giving info to the hosts. The sales are tracked in real time, and the host is told when something they said or did increased or decreased sales. Their only goal is to sell as much as possible. I would imagine that the "happy dance" remains because sales increase each time it is done. I cannot imagine why else the host would do such a childish gesture.
