Re: Customers who call and go on the air

@DrumPounder In my world, all the "younger" people order online. I never order over the phone either. I believe it's the oldest group, and long time viewers, that don't have a computer or can't use one that go on air.

Most often they will ask if you want to talk to the host, this is only when you call to place an order. They also check your background as much as possible. I would assume that would include any negative comments here on the board.

I don't mind callers, as some here have indicated they believe it should be eliminated. Honestly, I don't even pay attention. I prefer that to any personal information from the hosts, daughters, vacations, etc.

"I don’t mean this in an insulting way, but"

Just another way to say "I don't mean to be rude but..." and you just know that what you're about to hear is going to be rude.

To answer your question @DrumPounder , yes, you're way off base.  And just a tad insulting to those who call in.  They're not hurting anyone, so let them have their moment of enjoyment.

If QVC decides to end callers, that's their decision.  Until then, I doubt they vet the callers for age beforehand or do a "voice check".

Yes, callers tend to skew older.  But I still enjoy their contributions to the show, even when they're cringe-worthy.

I'm likely in the "older or oldest" group.  I'm 71 and I've been buying from QVC since it started. I've had a computer since the late '90s.  I can't remember when I last ordered by phone - I order strictly online

I will never forget as long as I live the lady who screamed at some unfortunate family member~~~"can't you see I'm on the ******* phone" while talking to Leah.

I have often wondered if that family member is still living.

Re: Customers who call and go on the air

I just turned 62 and I have been video taping my new grandson for my daughter when I watch him, I was surprised how different my voice sounded on the video from how I thought it sounded!  Also if people have smoked during their life they sound older ( I think).

I will never forget the caller that cussed during the call with I think it was Leah...that was hysterical...its still out on youtube....I'm on the f'n phone!!!!!

@spumoni99 .  Years ago when I worked for Qantas Airways reservations we had a regular caller, "Shirley from the Travel Shack".  She puffed away on the call, coughed and sputtered, you could hear a glass tinkling with ice.  Gruff rough sounding smoker's voice, it was llike something out of a movie.  lol.

@jackiejenny   Yes, that would be Rosalie! - from "an island in South Jersey."  That call was classic.  Leah handled it with aplomb - such a professional!

@happilyretiredgirl  Hello to you and I am smiling as I type! You and me both...I was watching in real time too and could hardly believe what I was hearing!!!

Yes, Leah handled that call like the pro she is...didn't miss a beat.

I still worry a little about what Rosalie did to whoever interrupted her QVC call~~~hope he could run fast!

Have a great evening! Woman Happy
