Customer Top Rated? With Only 3 Star Average Reviews?

How does that happen?

I always read those reviews with a grain of salt anyway...some folks will give the product 5 stars before the merchandise even arrives...,,,And as far as 3 stars getting a customer top rating I guess the Q has lowered their standards and is acknowledging their decline in product quality......{#emotions_dlg.glare}

For an honest review just ask the people on the forums.....

It's like callers who oooh and aaah over an items glorious quality before they even see it in person.

I've wondered that myself. HSN does the same thing. I figured they just were hoping no one went online to read the reviews. lol

Re: Customer Top Rated? With Only 3 Star Average Reviews?

This is one of my pet peeves too. I won't order anything anymore without reading the reviews online because so often Hot Picks and Top Picks have a large number of 1 -2 and 3 star ratings.

Also it seems that many of the 5 star ratings are from people who receive the item, like it, and quickly write a review before using it or washing it. A lot of time the lower star reviews are the most believeable because they actually talk about the item falling apart after the second washing, parts breaking off after using it for a couple of weeks, excessive amounts of lint picked up when wearing etc.

I am also wary of an item with no reviews that is very very similar to another item being sold - like an appliance with some extras added so it is a new offering with no reviews. Some times when you look at that same appliance, without the add ons, there will be a number of negative reviews.

After shopping at QVC for a couple of decades, I firmly believe that quality has declined. There are still a lot of items I like, like some of the Denim and Co tops, but other things I won't consider at all anymore.
