@TheMemphisVette  I can safely say I haven't heard that word in 50 years. It brings back so many memories of me shopping with my mom.

used to be a common color in mens leather goods

2 hosts had a challenge with it, so not so common any more

I've always loved it.  It's so rich compared to the usual brown.  Unique and goes with just about everything.

I still have a couple of pairs of cordovan beef roll penny loafers that I wear with ivory or khaki chinos and a navy blue blazer.  Cordovan belt, too!

I have seen dress cordovans advertised at Macy's as recently as about three months ago. I have always preferred cordovan shoes  with navy blue as opposed to black shoes. With today's style being so informal ( God help me, I went to a wedding and people had carpenter jeans on!) you don't see preppy cordovan as often any more.  Classic and timeless,  it should be around in some measure  for many more years.  (Fingers crossed!)

@TheMemphisVette  WOW, flash from the past. My dad had cordovan shoes. Brogues. Cordovan shoes are made from horse leather instead of cowhide. My fave color is red, so the cordovan color was right up my alley. My dad was a natty dresser. Rest his soul.

They are still available at Macys. Or at least they were a few years ago. Hubs does not like them try as I might to convince him otherwise. LOL Woman LOL
