I like to read about shoppers' reviews about products and they're usually a big help for when I am contemplating a purchase. I really don't like when people try to say something and then are attacked by others telling them to change the channel. Believe me, most of us know that's an option. We can be attacked on these forums by other readers, the QVC employees cannot. Not everyone is going to agree with what you say, but that doesn't give them permission to be mean. Like Mr Rogers says, "be kind".

@They CallMe MRWILKES    If Dudes is/was just a kid doing this for giggles in my opinion, he's got serious issues.  That's a lot of hate pent up in a kid.  I'd be scared of a kid like that.

@Teddixat

JamesDude was beyond brutal towards Courtney and going off about how she uses her Mother's last name, rather than her Father's (Bishop) or since marriage doesn't use her husband's last name (Howard) You have to dig deep into a host and their family to know that much about them, so kinda creepy!

Then, He/She went after Courtney for being away on vaca with her husband, which I believe its their 10 yr wedding anniv. They said she is selfish for being a dog mom with NO kids, but that is just wrong. Who knows the struggles one or both of them are having. She recently added a bunch of adoption IG pages to her following. Perhaps, in the future she goes the Kerstin/Shawn route.

If you think that HE or SHE MONSTER was bad, you should see "sammiepearson" on Shawn's Instagram. I am floored this Sammie girl gets away with what she says and why Shawn continues to let her be and hasn't BLOCKED her by now, is beyond comprehension. I am not even a Shawn fan in the least bit, but have to defend her from that troll.

I should note tho that I do find Shawn enjoyable in Shawn Saves Christmas series and also with Rick in their diff series together. Otherwise, any other time when on air she def is NOT my cup of tea!

@Effie54, Thank you for your kindness.  I do have so much to be grateful for in my long 80 years.  My DH and I are managing ok, and so are our children and grandchildren.  I have been blessed, and have several dear friends.  Struggles and accomplishments that comprise a life.  I began and finished a four year university while raising a family, etc.

I love art immensely, and DH and I are museum people.  I used to do crewel embroidery, gave a few classes, and worked for a company doing samples.  But my main love is Early American arts and crafts.  I can draw a little and paint a little.

Gave up on creating my own designs and followed several very talented people in the field with their designs and techniques.  Our home is our "Early American nightmare," as I call it.  We have some antique pieces, and are collectors.

The creative side of my life is what I have created, kept, and given away.  My DH made an album of what I made for us, as well as what I have given away,  He is a sweet man!  Many people dislike Early American things, as they are no longer in style.  My DH, though, refused to paint over some of my stenciling when we did some updating in our home.  After experiencing some nasty attack, I am really reluctant to show pictures of what I have done.

For laughs - my DD and SIL have plenty of my stuff in their home.  Someone asked them "Does your mother have a catalog?"  We thought that was so funny!

Thank you for your kindness.  You have a good heart, and I appreciate you.

All my best,

Pam

@PamfromCT  Hi Pam, we have a lot in common. Our love for antiques, gorgeous art work, museums, and Early American decor. I'm sure your work (and home) are absolutely gorgeous. I've always been a lover of antiques and fine arts. My dad went to art school in New York years ago and was quite a good artist in oils. I have many of his works in our home. To me, it's a shame that sterile, modern art has become the norm of popularity. There's not much warmth in that decor style. Our home has many antiques, mahogany furnishings and oil paintings. I share in your love for Early American, embroidery and fine arts in general. We have that love in common. I hope you're feeling better. I had missed your posts when you were recouperating. And I'm from CT as well.

@Effie54, Your home sounds so beautiful.  And to have paintings done by your father!  It sounds like a lovely and elegant home.  Ours is likely more "folksy" - my treasure is a. battered tiny trunk that my grandmother used for boarding school!  Imagine how old that is!  It is so nice to meet a kindred spirit.

I was devastated when Hitchcock closed their factory - all that talent lost forever.  Things are so different now.

@PamfromCT   It is a shame that more of the posters are afraid to show pictures of their homes and creative loves/works. So many stop because they were initially attacked with their first post(s).

I started on this message board with tons of pictures and my first post, out of the gate, was attacked...one poster (actually two) said the pictures were not even mine. It really put me off. But, I am fairly tough and I posted lots of pictures for several years.

I wish more people would understand how hurtful their words can be and how they are ultimately forcing some posters to stop showing things that would benefit all of us.

You sound like a creative and lovely person. Keep on creating and enjoying your home and crafts. Heart

@Regal Bee, I am so very sorry that you encountered such mean spirited responses.  Actually, a compliment that they did not think you had such a lovely home!  Such a shame, as a few can hurt so many.  I admire you for your stance to keep it up.  I just can't at my stage in life.  I am seeking peace in my old age, daily spiritual time, and surrounding myself with the same kind of people.  Yes, like you, and some other lovelies here.

We are supposedly busy cleaning out surplus stuff in our home.  You would not believe it.  We intend to stay here as long as we can, but when one of us leaves, the other will  not stay here.  We are lucky to hire help, and enjoy our home, yard, and neighbors.  Our DD and SIL also live in CT, but want us to move closer to them.  Not yet...

Best wishes to you!  And thank you for your kindness!

@PamfromCT  Thank you so much for your sweet compliment. I do love our home. Guests and family comment on it being very warm, cozy and well-appointed. I LOVE old trunks. Yup, I purchased one myself from an antique shop in East Hampton years back. How precious and valuable it is to have your grandma's trunk. A true treasure! I find it a shame that so many antique stores closed. I bought many beautiful furnishings and accent pieces there. I too felt awful, when Hitchcock closed. Used to be a destination for us. It was lovely to spend the day in that area. As a matter of fact, our dining room set is from Hitchcock as well as a Lincoln rocker in the living room. The hand painting is gorgeous. I do miss it!
