Re: Christmas in July...Yay or Nay???

No thanks!  The commercialism aspect is a major turn off.  Items being mass produced are tacky and too expensive.

I have saved very old ornaments my family brought from Europe almost 100 years ago.  These are my things that have meaning in my heart.

Re: Christmas in July...Yay or Nay???

I wouldnt mind A DAY of Chrismas in July ......BUT HOW MANY DAYS MUST QVC HAVE ??????????????? To me Chrismas is a special, magical time but when you start just selling products through out the summer just leaves a bad taste in my mouth !! I just dont watch anymore as it gets to be very stale to me. To each his own.....I just dont watch the shows anymore.   TOOO MANY !!!!  P.S. Didn't these shows start in JUNE ??? !!!!!!

NAY!

I find Christmas shows more boring than watching paint dry.

Re: Christmas in July...Yay or Nay???

YAY from me.  I've already bought a dessert I wouldn't have time to make and a couple of decor pieces I have a place for.

The rest of my day is wide open.

Everyone, enjoy your Sunday!

Re: Christmas in July...Yay or Nay???

It would be nice to at least get through Halloween before

we think about Christmas trees and decorations, etc.

It seems like only yesterday (because time really flies for me)

that I took the tree down.   The first of November is soon enough

to think about such things.  That is my opinion.

Re: Christmas in July...Yay or Nay???

I've never been one to want to see Christmas decorations this early in the year but understand that they need time to make all these things before the holidays. l've found things that I really wanted in November only to discover they were not available. I think I've gotten to the point where I just don't need any more decorations and it has to be really something that grabs me if I purchase. I did get reeled in watching Rick & Valerie yesterday afternoon, love them together, and they really show (as much as they can depending on the camera person) the items with very little talk about personal lives.

Last year, I purchased the Illuminated Mercury Glass Hurricanes H428053 and love them so much that they stay out all year (got the silver option). Yesterday, I got the 2 Beaded Candle Rings H430058 in metallic just to dress them up a bit for the holidays.

I have to say, I'm a bit tired of all the "mercury glass" items being shown by all the vendors and am ready for them to find something different. It all seems to be something I can find across the lines of vendors and in all the home goods stores locally. I like the look, although I do prefer the real old mercury glass, but have enough now. Guess this sounds like I think QVC should cater to my likes.

Re: Christmas in July...Yay or Nay???

I respected a prestige store that would refuse to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving. I agree. After the first show in late September/early October with Christmas decorations on the set, I don’t even notice them any longer.
Never underestimate the power of kindness.
